PLEASE FOR THE ONE MILLIONITH TIME.
I am not saying the new voice is bad. All I am saying is the older voice was far more transparent and moody--to me. The new voice we have had this last year or so continues to take me out of the game whenever I hear it.
Please....Please.....let us choose.
Please....Please....for the love of Jove....PLEASE.

I'm going to just take a guess here, but if they've changed the voice it's because they want it to say new things and the old voice actor isn't available anymore. Just a guess.

Bring in Majal Barrett for the voice. I have yet to hear a single complaint from anyone about her ability to do the job well. No disrespect to the individual currently featured, of course.
In the hearts and minds of many sci fi geeks, she defined the role. And the original voice in Eve was much more like Majal's interpretation of ship computer voices.

I agree, I liked the old voice much better, it was clearer and sharper, this one just puts me to zzzzzzz..... While we're on the subject of nostalgia... I demand a rollback of the game to pre-castor patch... back then your ship didn't stutter when coming out of warp and your engine flares would always show when you entered warp... and I want my useless 3D Radar display back AND I want the old missile collision system where you could hide behind asteroids to block missile fire.

I think the Ship's AI voice is fine.
I do believe that other sound effects should get overhauled in Eve though.
When I think of major sound issues I think of missile launcher sound effects, the 425mm Rail gun, and the Warp sound. Definitely not the voice of Eve!

Actually, considering the sheer size of Eve, I don't see why they don't give us like... a whole slew of voices. 2 for each race (1 of each gender), a race-neutral voice, and a gender-neutral andro voice.
Amarr - Pedantic, scholarly, looming.
Caldari - Crisp, businesslike, condecending
Gallente - Stoned, a little vacant, party-voice.
Minmatar - Challenging, baritone, please-for-the-love-of-diety-not-RAPish.

I remember when they made the first changes to it, the ship sounded like it was about to off itself every time you hit warp thats how depressed it sounded lmao.
I personally find it ok now, maybe I'd gotten used to it... well these days I don't honestly know anymore because eve sound gives me blue screens of death "yay me" haha.

"Old voice" was a TTS engine with a lot of audio filtering. They can make it say whatever they want. I like it better than the new voice, too. I think they changed to a real voice actor so that the tutorial could be voiced without it sounding like a female Stephan Hawking.

Why not different voices ? Let people choose the ship computer voice they like.
Not that I care much. I switched sound off like 2 years ago. I'd turn it only on again, if it worked without trouble and had almost no impact on performance.

I'm gonna agree.
The old voice was more crisp and businesslike, it sounded like a ship's computer.
The new voice doesn't sound like a ship's computer, it sounds like some dude's girlfriend on medication.

We should be allowed to use our own personal wav file for voice/sounds.

Record them yourself...
Use sounds like a klacson blaring for locking. WHOoooooo BAWWWWAaaaaa WHOOOOOoooooo
Download player made "sound packs".
Hire James Earl Jones to say... "This is E.V.E." during log in.
Use sounds from Seseme Street.
Replace auto cannon fire with the sound of a M60 on full auto when firing.
Make NOS sound like a $5 hooker when activated.
Heck... just use your imagination on the sounds probes could make when launched.
SOOOOOOoooooo much posibilities open up if we only had the power.

IM going to sign this also. This voice we have now is like a girl that is either high on something or on the edge of a nervous breakdown. Have no idea how much it costs to get an actor in to do some lines but please get somebody better.

If they ever implement it that may be reason enough for me to start using EVE sounds again... in other words that would be great.
And for the fairly limited ammount of voice messages Aura gives you it shouldn't be such a difficult thing to implement either?

I'd agree with the previous post if you were right.
Seriously, it's more than obvious that many preferred the old voice. A big stink was made here when they switched it and it still continues.
Again it's not that the current voice is bad, it just doesn't fit. Ship computer voices should sound like computers. Not the voice of the ship in "Battle Beyond the Stars"!!
Just give us the option please.
P.S. Even Majel's voice was processed to make it sound more artificial.

When I first started playing EVE the ship voice was cool. It sounded like it belonged there. I come back after while, about nine months ago, and I think ''what did they do to the voice?'' Now it's just 100% immersion-breaking.
