Ill keep this short.
I was flying through a 0.8 system in my merlin, saw a guy in a badger mark 2. I went to hit look at (as a Caldari i take great pride in the amazing design of this ship)
Well i hit lock on by mistake, i didnt think it was a big deal and its not like concord would care if i just locked on. Well this guy musta panicked cuz he starts jamming my targeting..... heh heh heh yall see whats coming
Sentry guns around the warp gate blow the guy to hell, he flies away in his escape pod, and a few seconds later the local channel is filled with him swearing :)
I just wanted to say sorry about your ship mate, but you really shouldnt panick so much!

All I have to say is Newbs and idiots alike make great light shows in secure space.

I swear they have no common sense those guys that designed the menu. My story is complete opposite. During times where time is limited and you need to be the first one to lock, I end up clicking Look at instead of locking. They should move it..lol |

True but not a new idea. It hasn't happened to me in awhile but I used to get people camped at gates and outside stations in hi-sec space target locking me quite frequently. Either it was just to be annoying or they were hoping I'd spaz and shoot at them. I figured it was the second thing they were after.
A few days ago a n00b in a Velator target locked my Moa in a 1.0 system. He must've been VERY new cuz I was quite surprised when he open fired on me. A Velator taking on a Moa is dumb enough but he did it outside a station. My first thought was great...free n00b lunch and went to warm-up the old rails. Needless to say I didn't get to so much as start a target lock on the guy. Sentry guns made REAL short work of him. Of course, at this point he didn't lose a thing but it was still kinda funny. At least he learned a lesson while still easy (read not painful) to learn.

hey Mon...i talked to the guy who did that...he said he did it just for fun :)...i was in system trying to recruit and he told me what he did

I used to do that while stuck, I'd get blasted by station guns 10-15 times. It attracts GM attention

Similar thing happened to me while traveling through aridia this morning.
Someone shot my lovely cruiser in their shinny new dominix bs and the scentry guns killed her ship.
I did feel rather sad taking the loot
