Edited by: Corrak on 25/04/2007 22:28:29 I recently installed Vista Premium 2 gigs of ram and an Asus 8800 GTS graphics card and have had very low fps and a jerking effect with in-game graphics since. I played around with the graphics settings in Eve and found that by clicking on 32 bit Z buffer in the depth/stencil format tab bumped my fps from 24 to 150. It already was set to 32 bit Z buffer with 8 bit stencil but by reselecting this option my fps went way up and the jerkyness was gone. I have no idea why but I thought I'd mention it in case there are any others out there with a similar problem.

I hope you're not using the Vista built-in drivers?
I'm running EVE fine at 100fps+ at 1280x1024 using a lowly 7600GT on Vista Business. :)

Do you mean the graphics drivers for the 8800? If so no I update those on a weekly basis just to be sure I've always got the latest thing from NVidia.

Hence you should probably stick with XP until the coders over there sober up. if they are anywhere close to having the same drinking habits of Icelandics, you're in for another 6-12 months of XP ;)

Vista is evil. Ok, well, maybe not inherantly evil, but the reactions it can cause can be
My 8800GTX averages 70+ outside, and 120+ inside at 2048 res with 16xqfsaa and supersampling.

Vista is fine, though requires 2 gigs to run well. NVidia, OTOH, has completely screwed up. The only way their product runs is if you set-back the memory timings to slow down your whole system and deal with the fact their crappy drivers are still going to crash you.
Otherwise you'll have an error report a mile long in your system's error-manager.
