I can see probes from other people in the scan map view. I tried to scan those probes with my combat scanner probe I, but failed. There is nothing shown up in the result list.
However, I do see probe types in the probe scan filter, under "drone" category, which are "interdiction probe", "scanner probe", and "survey probe".
Can we probe-scan probes after all? If we can, can we warp to it after scan it 100%? Did I fail because I don't have the skill needed or my probes are inferior? |

Those probes are listed so you can see them in your Overview which helps when using Directional Scan so you know if someone might be looking for you.
As for being able to scan them to 100% and then warp to them and pick them up, the answer is no.

So could we use probes to scan other probes and then show them on the result list of probe scanner? I have seen that in probe scanner filter, it has the options of three kinds of probes in drones list.

Combat prode scooping would be so cool though... some poor guy in a wormhole stuck on combat probe duty... slowly watching the probe count drop one at a time... John Williams JAWS theme playing in the background....

it would be really silly to be able to scan down probes, just imagine two players in cahoots being able to create safespots wherever they wanted in a system.

Ooo.. good point. I hadn't thought of that. Instant Deep Safes again.

Quite a while ago I had bookmarked some Incursion sites in a system that had spawned far away from system celestial objects. I then logged out and later when I logged back into the game, I found out the Incursion was over.
For example, looking at the system map side view, all celestial objects, including Jump Gates, were located down in the bottom half of the system and some of those bookmarked Incursion Sites were located up in the top half of the system.
Those site bookmarks made some really nice Deep Safe Spots, especially since they weren't located near any intersecting celestial points within that system. Course this system was located in High Security but I believe the same situation happens all the time, no matter where the Incursion area is located.

I thought Incursions like any other mission beacon always spawned within 14.3 AU of some warpable Celestrial. You can get a decent safe from them, but not a deep safe.
The only way to get a true deep safe is to have two or more celestrials more than 28.6 AU apart and drop the BM somewhere in the middle.

Some of the sites were located near Celestial objects and other sites weren't. I don't know if CCP has changed the spawn location of Incursion sites since then or not. However it wouldn't take long to find out, just go to an Incursion area, bookmark the sites and then view the bookmarks in the system map.

Just imagine scanning your own probes.
