Why does the Kronos say "Duviolle Laboratories" on it in plain English text...
Isn't this game supposed to be set in a distant galaxy at the end of a collapsed wormhole thousands of years in the future?
Or is there some chronicle explaining why not just the Gallente, but all the empires use the same plain English text to label their corp logos?
Wouldn't it make more sense if each empire had it's own script to label it's ships with? It would certainly add immersion and depth to the game. |

Why don't you complain that EVERYTHING else in EVE is in.....English. ESP how all Quafe ads....are written in English! Make ICE deplete and re-spawn just like roids. That alone would stop botting. (It'll upset the goons, so that will NEVER happen) |

What we read in EVE is in English so we can read it, but lore wise each empire has it's own languages and such... so just think of it as translated.
For example in the fiction, EVE is etched on the Eve gate in plain English but no one has a clue what EVE actually means, because no one knows English in EVE.
So yeah... think of it as subtitled or something. |

Yes, it's not like a few thousand years would change said language, right? If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. |

Anyone ever notice that in the Star wars movies, all text is in some (non-English) symbolic form? The OP does have a point, but you have to draw the line somewhere before the game becomes so unintelligible that it becomes unplayable. - |

Why can we see light from the universe outside the ship when we are going faster than the speed of light?
Why can we see a nebulae when we are inside one? If the gas were dense enough to see from within the nebulae there should be a star forming around you.

OP your also forgetting that in the russian, german, japanese and chinese clients the text in eve is in that respective language. Immersion taken too far can ruin the fun of a game. At some point you have to draw the line, step back and say but that's not even fun! Including made up languages is more chore than fun to the vast majority of players.
This thread reminds me of the nuts who bothered to make elvish and klingon functional languages. |

Actually, Tolkien made elvish himself, along with the other languages in his books. He was a very sad lonely young lad so made up languages for fun. Then he matured and his scary little mind spun up The Lord of the Rings and input his languages into it. He spoke his own languages so all the fans did was bring it back to life.
Now for klingon, similar idea, but WAY more effort by the fans. |
