Danceing? No humping I'm sure, but I would imagine pod pilots would tend not to dance too much.
Maybe they would be looking at some strippers dancing.
Either way it does not bother me. Any movement would be done right from CCP I'm sure.

Meh, I play both, 6 months of Eve costs me about as much as a GW expansion (every 6 months), and while GW may lack depth, Eve lacks the ability to get into a decent fight within a couple mins.

Sorry, I thought it was funny myself.
Seriously though, I still play Guild Wars. Why not after all, it has no monthly sub. I actually started about a year after I picked up Eve as some casual fun. Downtime is right in the middle of my primetime and with so many extended DTs since Revelations I can lose Eve for days at a time. That is when you'll find me in Guild Wars.
I really like it's pick up and go design. The fact I can log in and be in a 4-a-side random PvP bout inside 30 seconds is great when I'm just killing a bit of time. I also like the fact you don't really have to grind. I do all my PvP with PvP-Only characters (which start at level 20 and can be equiped with anything you unlock. You can unlock stuff by spending faction points which you earn in PvP). That frees me to play the story just for the fun of the story.
Anyway, for meaningless on demand PvP and great graphics I think it's great. Not as strategic or cerebral as Eve but thats why I play both.
I would like to respond to your top 10 though:
10 - WTB/WTS in open trade sucks Thats when you deactivate the local channel
9 - Finding a partner to do quest is like mining for ores Thats why I run a guild
8 - After reaching 999k of gold, I didn't kwow what to do afterward. Send it to me, I need to pimp my guild hall but I spend too much time in the arena to earn any gold.
7 - Paying shield and sword for 200k + ecto? WTH over! Is it green?
6 - My level 20 Monk/Ranger is a ranger w/ a bow not a staff.. I altered their universe

5 - Dancing is cool, but some pervs humping your legs while u r afk is not cool

4 - Free? I have to pay everytime there is an upgrade? No, you don't. If you want the extra content you pay but you can still play without it. Personally I skipped Factions. Anyway, Eye of the North will be the last pack and then it's Guild Wars 2 in 2008.
3 - I have a ranger character in pre-ascalon for over a year.
You could leave if you wanted.
2 - Making alot money by doing alot of Droknar's run Grinding kills, if you have more gold than you need why keep grinding.
1 - After beating Prince Rurik for the 12th time, I took off into space!! Over a year in and I have not yet completed any of the plots. It's them arenas again.

10. Getting a good group was always hard, after the expansions it became even harder (I only bought prophecies). 9. Too much magic, not enough hack and slash damage dealing. 8. My ranger's animations are too camp. 7. ... 6. ... 5. Nothing grabbed me anymore. I didn't want to do anything. 4. The community sucks. 3. Pre-searing is pretty. Post-searing just made me depressed. Space is prettier anyway 2. What?! Rurik's dead? Where'd the storyline go? 1. Attack, die, spawn, repeat...give up.

Top 10 >>10 - WTB/WTS in open trade sucks LFG also sucks.
>>9 - Finding a partner to do quest is like mining for ores Cute MinerGirl ftw. You love it.
>>8 - After reaching 999k of gold, I didn't kwow what to do afterward. Now if only you lost your stuff when died, you wouldn't have that problem.
>>7 - Paying shield and sword for 200k + ecto? WTH over! 999K gold, hello?
>>6 - My level 20 Monk/Ranger is a ranger w/ a bow not a staff.. I altered their universe So you're crap in GW combat pits too, no surprise there. Mending, you know they almost renamed it Mending FTW at one stage you know. Try WaMo instead, 3% more people can spot you being completely crap and immediately map out. (Don't know what I am on about, I fly a Wammo in Eve usually, only you can't Shatter my Mending, plus I hit like a girl having pumped Mending attributes.)
>>5 - Dancing is cool, but some pervs humping your legs while u r afk is not cool Cool? Male Air Ele. That's not cool. As for pervs, did you ever see my female assassin naked dancing, her name was "Daddy, Please Don't". 4 foot 2 inches of some weirdo's fantasy.
>>4 - Free? I have to pay everytime there is an upgrade? Never in the history of humankind has one word that implies so much ever meant so little. Free to all our paying customers... Whenever a company says something is free, always ask, "How much is this free going to cost me?"
>>3 - I have a ranger character in pre-ascalon for over a year. Black Dye. Levelling on self pumping Charr. Only newbies to be found. I bet you would own them up if there was a combat pit.
>>2 - Making alot money by doing alot of Droknar's run Level 1's the old Tombs were never cool. Unless you were some sort of pve freak.
>>1 - After beating Prince Rurik for the 12th time, I took off into space!! Maybe I make a character called Prince Rurik and get some payback. Oh wait, it's been taken already.
My reason for leaving Guild Wars. Number 1. And this is deliciously ironic. After a whole year, the GW servers were down for the first time one night. Downloaded Eve client. Now I pay for a game that is guaranteed down for 1 hour per day. And sometimes more.
Number 2. And this is deliciously ironic. I was a bit peeved at Anet for pandering to the large media darling alliances and giving them everything they wanted. LOL! T20. Aurora. Secret Aurora. Devs. GMs. SGMs. The circle of corruption is complete.
Number 3. And this is deliciously ironic. I was a bit bored of seeing the same old uninventive cookie cut builds being used over and over. Now I get the same thing, only this time, it takes the host company usually five to six times as long to nerf the stupidity.
I bet you can think of 10 reasons to go back to Ascalon. You can keep your stuff, in case you grow up enough to hack it the Eve world and want to come back, grittier, harder and generally less of a girl. Assuming that CCPs new American owners don't completely turn Eve into World Of Spacecraft(tm) in the meantime.

10-Economy sucked 9-Community Sucked 8-Post Searing Sucked 7-ú20 an expansion?... sucked 6-Constant Hack+Slash Game style sucked 5-Not being able to change proffession half way through the game, sucked 4-Too Linear 3-Way too Linear 2-Stupidly Linear.. getting the picture 1-The MMO has an ending?... wth...
The thing that annoyed me about GW was the fact that it was a single player game with the option to multiplayer. It wasn't an mmo, just a poorly deployed Single Player game with repetetive motions and no real depth.
On the upside Pre-searing visuals where nice...

1) i got tired of the same builds all the time in pvp (irony...) 2) playing instanced arena based fights all the time got a bit boring i'm still playing but mainly because of my guildies.
whoever says "pve was bore/no endgame" should try some gvg. After all pvp is supposed to be GW's endgame not eternal ****ty pve grinding. |

I still play Guild Wars myself. Mainly came to EVE looking for a second game and still playing it - albeit less thanks to Alienware being slowpokes in the repairshop >_> (Fix my stupid LAPTOP ALREADY!)
I normally play a Warrior/Mesmer in PvE - Same name as this character - and an Elementalist/Whatever in PvP (Usually with Fuyutsuki as a last name).
Yeah, the majority of player tend to be gobby little sh... ahem... but there are signs of intelligence in there. I'm in a guild full of it!

Edited by: Gladia Horusthu on 27/04/2007 15:51:29 I tried out GW last year when I got the trial cd at GenCon Indy. My observations:
1) no forums to ask questions 2) no instructions with trial 3) no help channel 4) towns full of dancing idiots 5) nothing to build up 6) nothing to tear down 7) bunch of no help when I ask questions on the one or two channels available
Of course, keep in mind that I don't play other onilne games, so all I know is the Eve interface. I'm assuming that if you actually buy the game, there's instructions on keyboard commands, how to find other channels to talk to people, etc. Handing out a client on a disc doesn't do much to get people engaged in a game. At least CCP has this wonderful hosted and moderated online community, and gives new players dedicated help channels.
My impression was little support for the community, and little support from the community, and nothing really to do other than kill stuff and change colors of stuff (wtf?!?). Might as well be playing Diablo in that case. At least that comes with a list of keyboard commands.

Fansites. Try them. Preferably GuildWars.incgamers.com (formerly GWOnline), because Guild Wars Guru is full of idiots.

Ask in town.
Originally by: Gladia Horusthu 4) towns full of dancing idiots
Sadly yes... beware the Warriors...
Originally by: Gladia Horusthu 5) nothing to build up 6) nothing to tear down
It's not that type of game
Originally by: Gladia Horusthu 7) bunch of no help when I ask questions on the one or two channels available
Stop asking in Trade then? Yeah, you're bound to get dunces in the game but that's the price you pay for playing a game without monthly fees.
And need I point out that Guild Wars IS NOT AN MMO!
Oh, and the instructions aren't the best, but going through Levels 1 to 20 should be considered a tutorial, since most of the important stuff is explained as you follow the story. And there a nice QuickRef guide in the box. With the keyboard controls.

I played GW from Beta, was a moderator at GuildWarsGuru.com (great place btw Gladia Horusthu, check it out if you are looking for a GW community), and loved and played the game for thousands of hours. When Factions came out I gobbled that up, dove in, and found myself utterly disappointed. I can't really say for sure all the reasons I dislike Factions so much. I know one of the main irritating factors to me was the roadblocks they put in to prevent people from running through the map quickly. I hate having to do the same mission over and over, and it's bad enough that I will do each mission numerous times with one character to do it right and to help guildmates through, but to then have to do the same damn mission 7 more times for all my other characters... ugh. In Prophecies, there were certain missions you had to do, the rest could be bypassed and done at your leisure later on. In Factions, you would hit numerous missions that would have to be done or you just weren't going anywhere, and that killed the game for me.
I also liked soloing anything I could, and in Prophecies there were tons of places that a skilled person could solo. I used to solo the Prophecies endgame fire island place (the name eludes me) with all the hydras with my ranger. In Factions, there were tons of places where soloing was pretty much guaranteed death. Damn blobbing Infected or whatever the hell they were called (almost carbon-copy of the Flood from Halo too...wtf was up with that?).
I've heard good things about Nightfall, but tbh, Eve has sunk her horrible claws into my soul, and going back to tender Guild Wars seems like trying to pick up and read children's stories again. I miss those innocent days of exploring that world, but I think I have been too corrupted to go back for anything more than the occasional fling. Why there should be a breathalyzer to login to Eve:
