Just made this, want advice on it. Let me know what you think.
7x Heavy Pulse II
Medium Cap Booster II 10 MN MWD II X5 Prototype 1 Engine Enervator (T1 web) Warp Scrambler II
Damage Control II Corelum C-Type Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane Nanofiber Internal Structure II 3x Heat Sink II
2x Medium Trimark Armor Pump Medium Energy Burst Aerator
w/o drones it's 690 DPS with conflagration 41k EHP
Fairly tight fit, but I wanted to make a high dps harbi that gets in quick and does the job. Recommendations? |

With pulses, why are you using a tracking enhancer? Wouldn't it be better to use more heat sinks instead for higher dps? I thought the tracking and optimal range would already be good enough. |

That fit is designed to kite stuff over 20km.
Looked now that you have a scram and a web, if you want to go "in your face" use a complete armor set-up. I have done this eft warrioring in this 5 minutes so prolly i will not be the best option but something to work around

That's very similar to one of my other fits, someone said it sucked so I thought I might look into making a new one with heavy pulses instead. Interesting that you brought up this kind of fit also.
Only difference with mine is I have a sebo in place of the cap booster, 3 heat sinks instead of 2 in place of the internal force field array. Also I used 3 trimarks instead of the resist rig.
Thanks for the help btw. |

so why the MicroWarpDrive? this a null sec requirement? I'm used to low sec and fights where capacitor endurance plays a part in solo or small gang fights. I have a hard time understanding the attraction of hobbling one's capacitor on a laser boat. |

I usually use it just to get in range quickly for conflag, and then turn it off. I don't keep it on permanently. |

I prefer medium focused pulses on the harbinger to heavy pulses. The damage loss is not brutal and you usually make up for the difference and then some with nearly twice the buffer. I don't always post on the forums, but when I do, I post with my main. |

Yup, This one looks good. I use a second EANM instead of the IFFA (what does that stand for anyway?) and a 3rd trimark for extra tank to get 71k EHP . Which is decent.
There are several variations though. I recommend watching a few Kil2 vids if you haven't already :P. I think he likes to use 1 with a local rep on it.
Selinate, I think your first fit has to little tank and with heavy pulses you will have poor tracking so you will be vulnerable to frigate size ships. I recommend using light drones for them instead of medium drones. The light drones will eat frigs while the mediums will be less effective against them. Also if you can fit a neut, med or small I would recommend that to. With a cap booster fitted they can be very handy to break tanks (like a drake to shut down the invuls ) or vs frigs.
I have been playing around with this fit to find a balance between max DPS and a acceptable tank:
[Harbinger, PvP AT MWD Heavy Pulse] Damage Control II Adaptive Nano Plating II 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II
Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon I Microwarpdrive J5 Prototype Warp Disruptor I X5 Prototype I Engine Enervator Small Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 200
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M Small Unstable Power Fluctuator I
Medium Ancillary Current Router I Medium Ancillary Current Router I Medium Trimark Armor Pump I
Hobgoblin II x5 Warrior II x5
Stats with all skills at V: 597 DPS (Confag M) 60k EHP
The issue with this setup is cap. I am not sure how it will do when neuted. Prob not great^^.

If you fly the buffer harby w/ focused pulses please keep in mind....IT'S FREAKING SLOW!
With the MWD on you'll top out around 800-900, and without it you're going to go around 120-150. It corners like a river boat.
That said, it's got a great buffer tank. It gets even better if you invest in a set of Slaves. The Scorch+Web+Neut+Drones makes short work of tackle frigs, and the 20km range of scorch means that you can at least hit stuff if it's kiting you (or leave).
I've considered dropping the neut down to a small to fly with a repper, but tbh that's a bit advanced for my crap real-life piloting skill. It'd probably work ok for soloing, since you could rep up while you're trying to out manuever stuff. I can't imagine doing successful range control w/ a 1600mm Plate and Trimarks.
For a PVP newb like me, the straight buffer is the way to go. Just point the ship in the right direction, turn on the mods, and hope they die before you do.
Nano/Shield Harby is good for kiting, but I'm just not a good enough pilot to fly it yet. I know sometimes it's difficult to realize just how much you spend on incidental things each month or year, but seriously, EVE is very cheap entertainment compared to most things... If you are a smoker, smoke one less pack a week and pay for EVE, with money left over to pick up a cheap bundle of flowers for the EVE widow upstairs. |
