So I'm sitting there on vent when my buddy exclaims 'OMG, they're trying to probe me out while I'm running a mission!". So of course my first response was "OMG, what are you doing running a mission?!?!?" So after we collectively got the carebear remarks and the namecalling out of the way, I began to ask some more specific questions...
"What kind of ships? What range, type of probes, etc." He says there's a few Veto BS flying around and are after his drake. So my other buddy has a great idea. "Hop in a shuttle and warp to a POS!" The collective lightbulb switches on in everybody's brain..."Invite him to a gang! POS pirate him with someone elses POS!"
So my buddy acts a little noobish in local and requests 'help' for his 'really hard' mission. He gets one of the guys to gang up with him and he waits as an Abaddon warps in. Pop goes the Abaddon. Lots of laughing on vent.
Remote second hand piracy ftw.

Looks like I need to clarify some stuff (again). Why does everyone seem to gravitate to the lowest common denominator?
I (and my buddies) don't POS pirate. This was a spur of the moment thing that one of my pirate pals did while he was flying his (relatively) noob mission running character. Of course we didn't get to loot any cans. We know full well that we couldn't retrieve it even before we planned this.
The whole idea was just to mess with the pirates and hope that in their zeal to kill a mission runner they wouldn't check first and just warp in blind, which they did. It worked once. I'm sure it won't work again.
As for people using this trick to gank 1v1 people, if you're not scanning out the area where you're going to be fighting, isn't that your fault anyway? Don't turn my fun thread (that's all this is) into an Infod flame fest.

It wasn't one Veto guy. It was a few of them. But only one warped in on my buddy, so only one lost his BS. My friend linked them in chat from his local channel. Ask around who has lost an Abaddon lately.
