Im doing 4's right now and I use a iteron to loot then come back in a caty to salvage. Is there a good ship to use for both? nice cargo, lots of high slots? I was looking at the exeqeror but ehh only 4 high slots. if it had just one or two more I could manage.

a destroyer makes a good looting ship fill up highs with tractors/salvagers and ows with expanders
works nice for me

Yeah but with tech 1 expanders you cant get more then 700m/3 and thats not nearly enough to loot a mission that fills up my iteron with over 1.2k at least

Exequror is a great ship
Tractor, 3 salvagers AB or MWD and cap chargers to keep it running Expanders or inerties/nanos in low

I run L4 missions in a domi and loot some of the wrecks as I go. I clean up in a catalyst with 2 named expanders that I've looted (735 m3 cargohold). The only times I have to make two trips with the lootship is when I run into loads of 800 cap charges or metal scraps.

4x Tractor Beams 4x Salvagers 1x T2 100mn Afterburner 2x T2 Cap Rechargers 5x T2 Expanded Cargoholds 3x Local Hull Conversion Overdrive Injectors
With skills it travels over 300m/s and has over 1000 m3 cargo capacity. Also you can offline overdrives as needed if you run out of space while looting to sacrifice some speed for additional m3. With all the overdrives offline it has over 2000 m3. I've yet to run a mission that I couldn't completely loot and salvage using this. ---

that's a very nice salvaging ship.
To answer the OP: I've heard it said on ship&mod forum that the absolute best is the hurricane battlecrusier (minmatar). I can't fly it, so I use a brutix instead, and sometimes run into space issues, but not often. I'll probably upgrade to something like this armageddon setup just because going back to station to grab a hauler to pick up the jetcan is annoying.

Edited by: Nargo Nextit on 29/04/2007 11:18:45 Most of the battle cruisers make great loot ships, i use the hurricane, unlike the destroyers there is plenty of cap for the 8 high slots and with 1 mwd engaged at half speed i flip round at 400 ms enough speed to still stay at tractor beam speed, i personally use 5 tractors and 3 salvager's,
with a 10AB and 1 mwd, which is slow accelerator but speeds me about at 800ms, the 5 low slots with named expanders give me enough space to do drone missions in 1 trip.
I have 3 salvage rigs fitted also and when the introduction of salvage drones comes in I'm sure it will be even more useful.
i have a caty fitted out for those missions that have very little loot but by far i use the bc, knowing which ship fits which mission helps.

I run a Catalyst with a Cap Recharger II and dont have cap issues. Unless your going with a Exchequer (sp?), then a destroyer is the fastest loot ship out there. Of destroyers, the Catalyst is the best due to cargo hold (800+m3 w/ t2 expanders) and total cap.

I use a cormorant with four tractors and four salvagers, an afterburner and capacitor modules.
Eject a can when you start looting and drag it along with you as a shopping cart with a tractor beam. Dumb your loot and salvage in it and come back to pick it up with your hauler after you've looted everything.

I use a Cyclone. You can get a bigger cargo bay (I'm sitting on 1.25km3) and a fair speed (330m/s with AB II, or 700+ with MWD I). I shove cap rechargers in the mids, so with an AB, I can run all the mods at about 75% cap. With the MW I get a fair while out of it (about 10 mins I think) before cap runs out, but you can turn it off for a minute or so to get another 5 mins.
Very good ship. There are only some missions where I need to come back twice.

Exactly what I do, I actually have an alt dual logged to salvage/loot but same concept. Works brilliantly. Could easily do it solo, just would take two trips and since I already have the accounts I might as well use them.
I might switch to a Coercer for salvaging though, since I don't really need the mid-slots that the Coromorant has and could use the cargo expanders.

if you have good fitting skills, a 4x salvager 2x tractor cormarant can fit a 10mn AB... mine gets up to 752m/s without great AB skills

i run salvage and loot in an OMEN.
high: 3x tractor beams 3x salvager
med: 1x 10mn MWD 2x Cap Recharger II
low: 5x Cargo Expander II
rigs: 2x salvage 1x cargo
normally salvage everything in 1 or 2 tries. max speed with MWD is about 750m/s, yes tractor beam only pulls at 500m/s but your not running the MWD the whole time only to close the little gaps in between wrecks. Cargo capacity is about 1250m3 about so even the rogue drone missions you can handle it all basically. I do not loot cap boosters or scrap metal all they do is take up space. destroyers are fast but have squat for cargo room so for looting it sucks, industrials great for hauling but the lack of high slots makes it horrible for salvaging. BC/BS just too damn slow unless your looting and salvaging while running the mission in a Domi. dual accounts rocks for salvaging as well, run the mission in 1 and salvage in the other.

Typhoon here. Same concept: 4x salvager, 4x tractor. 1 AB and 1 MWD (one for going 500 m/sec towing a can, other to cover distance fast).
Lows are mostly inertial stabs, but I swap cargo expanders for the bigger mishes. Considering it starts with 625 m^3, doesn't take much to get that hold huge.
I also use a hurricane, catalyst, thrasher etc. since I run several hubs. The phoon is by far the cadillac of looters.

I use a Thrasher (Min destroyer) with 4 tractors/4 salvagers. I use an Afterburner, not an MWD, and I put a nano and an interia stab in low. When my hold fills up, I jetcan the loot and tractor the jetcan, having it follow me around while I loot the rest of the wrecks. When I'm done, I bm the jetcan and come back in a Wreath (the smallest, most agile Min industrial) and pick up the can.
If the occasion calls for it, I'll sometimes swap out for an MWD or for cargo expanders, but usually not.
