You can be sure you have the right person if you do a little research. As for dragging alliance into it.. goonswarm isn't just any alliance, their society is a bit different from the norm.
Tyrrax, all we have in this game is pixils and honor. You don't bismirch the honor of those you fly with, end of story. When you drag the name of the folks you fly with through the mud something like this happens. I'm fairly sure the OP is going to be decorate more than one BoB Alliance internal forum by tomorrow. If you're going to give your enemies that kind of propoganda at least get something more than 30mil isk for it.

It's true. Recruiting from the rest of eve isn't really something they care about as much as the rest of us.
But if you're going to quit eve because you gave someone your stuff and they scammed you, maybe you weren't cut out for eve.

Considering they all think this is pretty funny and their "Officer" saying we're "******" goes to show how sad people can really be. Well I hope they enjoy being the biggest Corp on the EVE Server, as I'm pretty glad I am not in them if this is how they all act, and how much they really care about the actions their own members effect the EVE Community. I really enjoyed my short time I did have on EVE, it was a very well made game and was a lot of fun. But when End game shows itself as this and no one really cares, why would I wish to continue to stay? I have absolutely nothing left and no one cares, not really the community I want to be in to be honest.
I know there will be people who look at this and laugh their asses off at it, but there might also be some people who can relate, and others this might work out as a warning to them.
To the people who enjoy EVE I hope you continue on doing so. And to the people who enjoy doing this to people and the Corps and Alliance that harbor and accept it without fessing up to or paying back the damage that their Corp members cause, perhaps you should look really hard at your recruitment policy and maybe try a little harder next time before letting them in.
To the CEO and Officers of Goonfleet , thanks for brining my fun time in EVE to a close. Fly Safe

Goons arn't the "End game". They're honestly just...well goons. Sort of like a plague, or perhaps a cancer. Take your choice. Have faith that there isn't another big alliance out there who would accept such actions from their members.
E-Honor is fairly important to most of us, not so much for the goons. Don't let their shameful actions spoil your eve career.
e; As a SA poster my self, I consider the Goons that post in the games forum (Goonswarm) as the lowest life form on SA. Maybe even lower than BYOB super stars... -------------

So you are a pirate (according to your bio, corp and sec standing) and do PvP and possibly grief people, destroying their work of months in a matter of seconds probably.
Now you got to know the feeling on the other side and complain about that you don't like it? Funny...

Scamming is legal in EVE because EVE in a roleplaying game first and foremost, and in a roleplaying game, characters can scam, lie, cheat, steal, kill etc. Why shouldn't they? Just like actors in a movie or a theatre play can scam each other. EVE is just one big ongoing theatre performance, played out on a computer screen.
There are probably plenty of good reasons to dislike Goonfleet but this isn't one of them. If you got taken to the cleaners you really only have yourself to blame.
And don't post chatlogs. If I were a moderator I'd lock your thread for that, or at least edit your post.

This "way" really make alot potential player quit. And i cant see how this is making CCP any money, or the game any better. If scams would be illigal against the eula, alot more player might play the game. But this way you cant trust anyone. And when you cant trust anyone, how can you play together with others? Every day i hear that a person robbed a corp. Or that some older player scam new player, who just dont know better and lost all their stuff becauce of this (and a player with 2.1m SP is a new character).
And most shocking is that you all seem to find this fine!!! Scam, cheat, betrayal are never healthy for a game. It all only cause hate and distrust.
I am really sorry for your loss Martyr. But welcome to Mafia online. Where you get an applause for robbing your own mother. And an asskick for being the victim.
Well at least no-one can accuse you of not understanding what you can do in EVE.
The point of EVE is freedom; freedom is meaningless without choice. Some players choose to be "evil" in the game.

QFT.
The only thing I would like to add at this point is that the developers do not want to hold the players hands throughout this game, neither would we (the players) want it.
The whole idea as far as I can tell is freedom within the rules, basically as long as it is not using a bug in such a way as to advance yourself or your character in the game then it is fine.
Morally wrong? perhaps, fun? HELL YEAH.
Buyer beware, principally.

Sad, but way within the rules of the game, pvp in a lower form.

If the goons have any honor they're boot and pod those involved. It's not so much that the goon member involved scammed as that they dragged their alliance into it. I mean how the hell is anyone ever going to even negotiate with the goons if they can't be sure they have valid contacts.

Edited by: Plutoinum on 29/04/2007 10:02:08 Goons don't care, because they recruit their people from the SA forum and also probably believe that they have all the allies they need.
The universe is very polarized and Goonfleet are on the anti-bob side, so you won't get much sympathy from other groups on that side. For many in EVE Goonfleet is cool and on the good side per definition. If someone from the other side had done it, there would be voices like: 'Man, you guys are really low !'
The irony in EVE. Just take it as a lesson. And well, if you are just Goon alt trying to get sympathy and isk donnations, then well played. ( Sorry that I also think of that possibility. I don't know you, it's EVE and there is no common honor codex. Scamming and lying happens a lot, so you always need to be carful, who you believe and who you trust. ) ___________ Muuuhhh !!! |

I actually saw people claiming to be recruiting for Goonfleet in the Recruitment channel the other day, so his story does seem plausible.

sorry, but that really made me laugh Scams are good for Eve. They weed out the stupid people and leave us with a) A generally more intelligent playerbase (good thing). or b) People who are at least smart enough to learn from their mistake, rather than crying about it (also a good thing).
All in all, good job Goons.
