Edited by: Tomahawk Bliss on 29/04/2007 22:52:32 Perhaps this thread has to grand a title for such a small battle between pod pilots, but either way here it is.
Most of the fighting has involved Aegis Militia. CVA/PIE fleets are rarely engaged anymore by Star Fraction due perhaps to the previous weekÆs vast losses against them. CVA's dominance is unquestionable. Aegis Militia however, a conglomerate of Amarr, Caldari and Intaki Loyalists has remained a favored enemy.
Intaki Union entered the war late, moving our assets from our home fields of Syndicate to Amarr space took several days longer than anticipated. But once the fights started we quickly realized this was not a full-fledged battle royal but just another war with the same defining attributes as all the rest. The allied command had, up until this point in the war maintained almost complete dominance and space superiority, Star Fraction reduced to flying interceptor fleets.
On day one for Intaki Union we assembled a fleet of allied ships and went into Amarr system looking for a fight. Star Fraction, being out numbered by two pilots chose to not engage. We camped them for a while, chatted with the locals and then disbanded the fleet.
Star Fraction undocked after we had left system and pursued one part of the fleet, numbering roughly two to one in favor of the Star Fraction. Feeling denied a fair fight I decided to show Star Fraction what a Khimera was like and though outgunned we jumped back into their waiting embrace.
We lost three battleships and killed only one before the fight was over. Fairly good considering our fleet was mostly battle cruisers and cruisers and their fleet (twice the size) was entirely battleships and tech 2 vessels.
After that a few smattering engagements followed over the next few days. The Star fraction has persistently caught allied pilots with their pants down hitting a solo BS in one system, Ganking small squads moving with a lack of information in others. Star Fraction has capitalized on the uncomfortable and lackluster internal communication between PIE/CVA and AM. For that they are to be commended as shrewdly exploiting an enemyÆs weakness. If nothing else however SF should be thanked for forcing the allied factions of the Amarr, Caldari and Intaki to open communications and begin to work together. Once this war ends the Factions of righteousness will be stronger for it as we continue to integrate better.
Little else happened until today, the end of week one for Intaki Union. Mostly one side would camp the other which of course is rather boring. Neither side wanted to engage out gunned or out numbered and so SF was often left twiddling their thumbs inside a station and occasionally allied forces were left twiddling their thumbs inside other stations.
Today though, now that was a battle to remember! Star Fraction in a fleet of 12, mostly battleship with a few elite vessels verses a fleet of twenty allied ships mostly cruisers and battle cruisers with a smattering of battleships. Perhaps the most equal force to date in this war. It require tricking the Star Fraction into engagement but once they had committed to the fight the fires of hell seemed to have broken open.
The battle occurred in two parts. The solid primary engagement where their high DPS gankships tore vast holes into the less organized and much lower DPS allied fleet. They lost several vessels and claimed numerous kills.

The second part was when allied forces reequipped and hit SF while they were scooping loot. Killing several of their ships (such as the faction stabber of surprised pilot Axen Vormar) and running off with coordination. It is heartening indeed to see the allied forces starting to mesh together in ever increasing accuracy and cooperation.
With numerous losses I can with fair certainty say that Star Fraction, having abandoned the interceptor tactic, may yet still have a chance to inflict more damage upon the various Paramilitaries. However with certainty I can also say that Star Fraction is not able to inflict serious disruption of Paramilitary activity unless they change their tactic of staying in Amarr and waiting for allied forces to come to them.
Star Fraction will need to begin an aggressive campaign or be content with staying nothing more than a diversion when other hostile forces, such as those agents of chaos in Providence, are not available for battle.
I do not know what Star FractionÆs goals are, IÆm sure one of them will pop in shortly to explain it, but so far they have done little more than unify the Loyalists, take pressure from the Minmatar and Gallente paramilitaries (helping the cursed Federation in the process!) and adding to the economic industry of Amarr with the numerous ship losses on both sides and the influx of pilots.
So to the allied command, I salute you and look forward too much more warfare in the off hours. To Star Fraciton I salute your skill and coordination, you are indeed a capable PvP force and the training you are supply to the next generation of loyalists is invaluable. Thank you.

An excellent summary of the recent conflict and very informative given the lack of a week three war diary from the Star Fraction. A week that did not quite go as they planned from my understanding. I'm sure given this recent "victory" in battle we'll see a week four diary posted immediately.
Still your assesssment of their tactics is correct. The overall activities of groups like PIE are the same as usual. There has never been a time during my nearly three years as a PIE pilot where I have felt "safe" flying through Empire space on autopilot. The enemies of historical proporation, the Minmatar, are always a threat. The Minmatar threat even today is much greater then that of a ragtag bag "look at me" podpilots trying to show the universe how superior they are while wallowing in hypocrisy. Likewise down in Providence the threat of piracy and terrorism is an everyday occurance.
The Star Fraction vastly overrate their relevance in relation to the effects they have on the paramilitaries and specifically PIE as we were their first war target. Nothing has changed, we still fly around like we used to, people shoot at us, the sun still rises in the morning and sets in the dawn over the mighty Amarrian Empire. Business as usual. We lose ships, we build new ones, the parade of Amarr goes on and on with never an end in sight. Business as usual with no real noticable effect by these fractionistas.
I guess you could say they have no impact at all....

Edited by: Casserina Leshrac on 29/04/2007 23:25:37 I am curious, have you completely routed the Star Fraction and forced them from Amarr?
And yet being reported by an Intaki Mercenary, and interesting note.

We have many more important enemies to fight then some ragtag bunch of smut pedling fractionists seeking fodder for their next propoganda post and holovid exclusive. If they were any kind of a threat they'd have been forced from Amarr by the Imperial Navy. Personally I view them as a nusiance and nothing more.
So no we haven't "forced them from Amarr". Why waste time on a nusiance?

I'm not going to comment on Tomahawk's "diary" other than to say "well done" for making the effort to present one for the IGS and I hope others in the nationalist bloc will follow your lead and tell your own side of the story.
The Star Fraction will be releasing a week 3/4 diary ourselves in a couple of days to cover the last two weeks of the war and suffice to say its been pretty exciting. Tonights battle breaks new records for bodycount in the theatre and Aegis Militia are to be complemented for bringing the fight too us with courage and commitment where many of the other Amarrian paramilitaries have failed.
Anyways I'll leave it there for now.

well it was hilarious to catch that Rook and Fleet Stabber with their pants down and it was worth mentioning, don't be bitter. ^_^
I look forward to the next Star Fraction report, they finally have something to report other than "we were camped in station" or "our interceptor fleet ganked this solo ship". Now they can note that AM kept attacking them even out gunned regardless of subspace interference. Welcome to the Jihad.
I appreciate the respect given to AM, we do not run and we do often fight outnumbered (not always of course, we do like to keep the enemy guessing). This can not be said for our enemies, but then it can not be said for most any organization. Paramilitary dedication only calls to those willing to work for the greater power of their nation state, we give our lives and our ships willingly to support our nations and our allied nations and for the idea of future nations yet to be birthed.

We are humbled by your words, Star Fraction. To be praised and acknowledged by your enemy is one the highest honours one can achieve while in battle, surpassed only by the priviledge of laying down your life for your cause. It is a sign of wisdom and civilised behaviour on you part and we accept it. You are worthy opponents as well, veterans and true warriors and you also fight for what you believe in. Aegis Militia will continue to fight as long as we have God and the Empire to serve.

I may be mistaken, but I can't seem to find any records of any Star Fraction pilots losing a Rook under enemy fire at any time during Operation Slaughterhouse. Am I missing something? It's entirely possible, mind you, I'm a bit tired after a long day of business and patrols.
In any case, an interesting read, and I quite look forward to more opportunities to fire upon you. Glad to see the misguided Intaki Union finally putting their money where their mouths were and getting into the conflict. See you on the battlefield.

The PIE pilots who participated in the battle enjoyed the activity as well and appreciate the support the fellow paramilitaries have shown during this war with their assistance. I know I had to replace a few PIE ships after the battle.... yes despite Jasmines implication it wasn't just AM there. It was a good fight though.
Anyway I imagine Jade and Revan are plotting their next planet invasion after Fensi V so I'll leave them now to their delusions of granduer. Being such a humble man of God I have no such fascination with being important or known. Some are not as fortunate and are victimized by the sin of Vanity.... Edited by: Soratah on 30/04/2007 14:34:36 Well done on an eloquent piece Tomahawk. The war will continue, the Amarrian coalition will always have the power to field it's fleets. The sacred fields of the Empire will still be defended, and no occupying power will ever subdue the strength of the Golden Glorious Empire.
Our offices and military barracks will now sing prayers for the dead and those who're yet to die on the fields of battle. Let all enemies of Amarr know the words we sing upon the field as we charge our fleets into the swords of our enemies.
And did those feet in ancient time Walk upon Amarr's mountains green? And was the holy Lamb of God On Amarr's pleasant pastures seen?
And did the Countenance Divine Shine forth upon our clouded hills? And was Jerusalem builded here Among these dark Satanic mills?Bring me my bow of burning gold: Bring me my arrows of desire: Bring me my spear: O clouds unfold! Bring me my chariot of fire!
I will not cease from mental fight, Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand Till we have built Jerusalem In Amarr's green and plesant land.

I'm impressed Tomahawk. I see the Amarr bloc have found their spokesman in Matari blood. One day they'll do something themselves.
In the meantime, I'd like to say that it's good to see the Amarr offering something The Star Fraction can... sink their teeth into.

To give Mr Bliss the benefit of the doubt on that one. I have to admit I was the Rook pilot and although I did manage to escape the small second wave, I was indeed caught with my pants down I just managed to pull them back up in time
A gutsy entrance to the conflict I find myself suprised to say by Intaki Union. I will leave further comment to the poloticians.

this is going to be a fun war, I hate (really, really, really hate!) gutless worms. No one should fight foolishly but there is a time when one must set aside that cold lump that catches in your throat and burn your thrusters forward into the fray. SF understands this.
right now though we are entering that stage where the newness has started to wear off (well not for us yet) and I expect we will see ever decreasing large battles (though I will pound the war drum to be sure) and several long weeks of back and forth strike/counter strikes.
At least the damn fat cats of Concord are being assuaged with reduced bribes, they are as corrupt as the Federation!
