This game blows, starting out gameplay sucks and flying your craft has nothing to do with personal flying skills. Why cant a game producer create a mmorpg that combines turn based action outside of a starship, like anarchy online, with realtime space flight simulation like in Freelancer?.........Have the best of both genres. Turn based space warfare is a stupid concept, it takes no skill and isnt near the heart pounding seat of your pants fun of games like freelancer or even tachyon. Come up with a game that combines both, and Ill be the first to sign up for a lifetime subscription, paid in full up front.

Best turn-based space warfare game I have ever played so far would have to be MOO2, "Master of Orion 2 Battle at Antares". still have that one on the hardrive to this day.

i see what ur saying, but with turn based, trading etc, and 4000 peeps all flying themselves, it would be a bit too lagged for my liking

People usually prefer the play style they are good at.
Some people like skill based games...because they are good at sitting for hours prefecting their aim, training that particular manouver over and over again.
Some people like brain based games where you can still beat a 24/7 player - IF he's dumber than you.
Needless to say most games go for the first option since it is the most fair and equal for everyone. Everybody can be a good player - they just have to put in the right amount of time.
Eve is healthy mix I think. You need brains, experience, organisation and ressources to win battles....or you need some friends who have those qualities :)

The key phrase there is "needing brains".

Well everyone is entitled to their thoughts but that attitude is what makes eve's community different from others.
IMO personal flying skills would make this game lame, i like the way it is set up since i can sit there and comtemplate my next skill upgrade or manage other things with my character.
With what has been suggested here with the realtime space flight (still not sure if that's serious or not ), turn based action outside of a space ship, etc. it would take away from this game.
Sorry you didn't like the game, it's not for everyone but you have to give it a chance. adios!

so the game dosent meet your standards, that dosent mean "it blows"
at least 5000 other users log on per day so at lest 5000 other users think this game is decent =P

Why was this drug into your flame? Eve isn't turn-based. If you got a problem w/ a turn-based game style, go to a game w/ that style and flame there.

I agree in that Freelancers flight was pretty cool and I really enjoyed the game myself but I think it lacked alot more of the ability to actually BE a freelancer. You either went out and killed other ships or flew from place to place buying and selling stuff but the prices never changed. So far I like EVE in its wider range of professions to choose from and free reign on where to take your character which I thought Freelancer would give you. You can at least own more than one ship in EVE too.

Don't forget about Microsoft Allegience, it was a great combo of real time strategy, pilot skills, and massive multi. Never really did well, but is a great game to this date. I think you can get it for free now even.
Hey, on your other subject, MOO2 is great, but I still even have Armada 2525 on mine :-) -Domaru
