Have you tried uninstalling EVE before re-installing?
I would un-install EVE, use a registry editor to clean up your REG, then defrag the HD and start all over again...

Download regsupreme, use it after you have un-installed eve.
Then defrag your HD and try re-installing EVE.

Tensure, try this: * Update your version of DirectX to 9.0b. Linkage. * Update your graphics drivers. Instructions. * When you're reinstalling, make absolutely sure that you have no processes running that may conflict with the install. This includes not only audio and video programs, but also background monitors, antivirus and hardware checkers included. Turn off everything you possibly can.
If neither helps, send an email to [email protected] detailing your problem and what you've tried so far, including everything you've mentioned here. Since you're currently stuck at the actual install, we'll deal with that first. Make sure to mention at which part in the install it freezes, and whether you get any messages. If you manage the reinstall before petitioning us, include the .dmp file with your mail, and ask for instructions on how to create a DirectX log and a LogServer file.
