By now Im sure most have you have seen the use of anchored tins in space to be used as floating adverts -
tis crap tbh - tis little more than space junk and should be squashed -
the advet billboards ccp should open up for adverts - :)

Most of them are small cans, easy to blow up if you're really annoyed by them. --- soonÖ |

I dont see why they dont just make a interface for GM's to see all the cans, and to delete ones which are ads.
Sometimes we see 20+ cans in one spot, thats just a major ad, it lags the clients warping into an area, and is just there as an ad.
Kinda like spam. ------- Your 425mm Prototype I Gauss Gun perfectly strikes Guardian Enforcer, wrecking for 827.3 damage. |

OR...... make the sovereign of the space where all those cans are charge the person a fee per container. 2000 isk per can. At least.

An even better idea. Character limit on the cans. Like no more than 20 characters. I would like to see them put
"Death and Vengence corp is now recruting new members to sit and mine for days on end in empire space. We also make ammo. Convo or mail Som3 B0zo for details. [DVC]"
as the name of a can when they can only fit 20 letters in there. ------

OR, make it so you can't anchor a container anywhere near a gate or NPC controlled station.

Just get your apoc and tachs out and destroy them. Takes only a few minutes a can or so.

I think a couple of things should happen
#1 cans should have a 'parking fee' #2 unused cans (cans that have not been attended) within 2 weeks will either pop, or unlock (there could be a whole industry in salvaging cans) #3 create ad boards where ppl can buy ad time these could be at gates and in stations. This was corps could advertise products, recruit etc.
even the paranoid has real enemies...

#1 Great. Tell me how CONCORD is going to toll me for deploying a hundred giant containers in deepspace in 0.0, and while you're at it, tell me why I must pay thousands/millions of isk just to stick something in space?! #2 Say good-bye to the long term hidden supply depots. #3 Buy time on the CONCORD boards, I like . _______________________________________________________________________

Am I the only one who isn't bothered in the least by these?
And really, I don't know if I'd buy space on the billboards... because as cool as it would seem, who actually looks at them? Well... I guess maybe bored indy pilots.
Whereas with ad cans, you see the names on your scanner or right onscreen.

Can's don't bother me either. One or two is fine, if someone has like 20 ad cans at one gate thats a bit much. But I've never seen that many anyhow.

Errrr... Time on CONCORD billboards=more reason to look at the boards=more interest. Quite a few emp based people take a look at the boards every day or two. Maybe if you only see one item on one board a day while doing agent missions, that's still how many views? _______________________________________________________________________

It would be worthwhile if the Billboards were had infotainment on them. The only reason I ever looked at a billboard with when I saw a Horder stuck through a Dominix stuck through the board. Other than that, they are not big enough and entertaining enough to hold any interest. If they would open up the boards and maybe make them larger, I might consider buying time on them.... Most of these container idea's are the suxors. Except for the 20 char limit which I posted on the idea labs 3 months ago. The rest will affect all containers (like mine) not just the spammers. My experience tells me that CCP would make a change that affects all, before addressing the few though.

Trashing cleaning drones run by the various empires? Ad cans could have a lifetime then .. as would any secured can in empire space.
Please take your trash home with you, ta!

I thought they had to be anchored 100km from any gate/sentry/station or did they do away with that?

Another great example of how a few players can screw it up for the rest of us. Sure, I can understand it as an idea to get your corp noticed, BUT!!! If you get sick of the cans and try to take them out yourself, then Concord comes to defend the empty can and thanks you by taking some standings status and sometimes your ship. There are plenty of players who use the cans for what they are intended for, that being anti-ore thief options. But, I must admit I do get sick of all the space debris n trash out there. I like the 20 character (hmm, maybe 10?) name limit.

Maybe hacking will help clean up a few of the annoying cans.
Hack, claim, rename or recycle.

I blow up PIE cans whenever I see them. But they don't usually have them at gates as advertisement. Do you know if you take a security hit if you attack one? --------------------------------------------------
