Standing in the corridor overlooking the massive assembly plant below Vice-Admiral Archbishop of PIE quietly watched the machines and workers of the Praetoria Shipyard put the finishing touches on yet another Battleship for the servants of God. Often he stood at this particular window, watching quietly, looking over his domain and his home. While he had a residence he was most comfortable among the assembly lines and dockyards of the ship factories. The hum of equipment, the voices of the workers and slaves, the glow 24 hours a day under the lights of the factory. This was his true home and here he was in his element.
Turning he walked along the elevated corridor, broken every few feet by another window, as he approached the lift that would take him up to his quarters. Entering the turbolift he paused a moment and instead hit the down button watching as the doors quickly closed leaving his security detail behind confused as to his sudden change of direction. Eventually several levels below the lift stopped and with a whoosh of air the doors slide open.
The noise of the factory was almost overwhelming, the smells of finishing materials and the glow of the golden hulls reflecting the overhead lighting. Workers hurried from station to station as slaves moved materials around and placed them in their proper places ready for the next assembly job. Slaver hounds moved quietly on taunt leashes held by Amarrian Guards who wore helmets and carbide vests. In the background Archbishop could hear the low religious music he had playing constantly in the factory.
He walked slowly among the ships under construction, Punishers, Tormentors, Zealots and Mallers, over to the side parts of a massive Apocalypse stretched almost as far as the eye could see ready for transport to orbital assembly, he couldn't even see the end of the factory as it stretched on to what seemed like infinity. Stopping at a work station he admired the fine golden plating being affixed to a piece of armor that would adorn a Maller class cruiser. Here in the assembly factory the true heartbeat of the shipyard was readily evident.
"Is everything OK my Lord?" said a voice startling the Admiral. Turning he nodded and said "Yes just looking around". "Aye sir" said the foreman as a security detachment kept its distance having finally caught up with the wandering brown robed officer.
"A beautiful piece of work" said Archbishop sliding his hand along the golden trim adorning a doorframe destined for an Abaddon Battleship. The frame shone in the light and the etched emblems of PIE and Amarr alternated along the frame.
"Yes it is sir" said the foreman as he lowered his head slightly "I wish I could see it as it's intended...." me muttered before quickly looking up and seeing the Admiral staring at him. "What do you mean?" asked Archbishop as the foreman stammered and suddenly looked very uncomfortable.
"Well nothing sir, its just, ....... well sir I don't really feel like I'm doing my part for the Empire......". said the foreman obviously opening up his emotions and thoughts to the Admiral. "It's just.... I should be out fighting.....". Turning away he kept his head lowered.
The Admiral turned and faced the foreman and patted his shoulder. "Do you realize what you do here is every bit as important as fighting in space?" he asked. The foreman looked confused and said "I know this is important but I don't feel like it's enough".
Archbishop glanced up and saw several other workers had gathered around as work in the area had nearly stopped.
"We are all called to serve God in different ways. All that matters is that we do our best and forget all personal desires in our journey of service to Amarr". The Admirals words were strong and resolute... he had no doubt.

"Our pilots in space need the quality ships you build here. Do you think any of them could build something as wonderful as a starship?" he asked hypothetically. The foreman looked up "Of course not!" he replied.
"So without you those warrior pilots would have nothing... and without them you would have no purpose..." said the Admiral as the foreman and others nodded in quiet understanding.
"You see the true honor and glory is not in personal acolades, in awards and medals, in fame and publicity. The true honor is to serve. Serve with honor in whatever your calling and you serve God as He desires. Nothing else matters". The Admiral concluded as the workers now smiled and seemed more upbeat. While it was true they were not blasting through space constantly in battle the fact remains that each does his own part for God and Empire.
"Good night and God Bless" said Archbishop as he nodded to the workers who bowed and said "good night sir" in nothing resembling unison. Turning he walked toward the lift to take him to his quarters and a good nights sleep. His security detail followed at a distance while the noise rose again in the background as the factory returned to work.
Entering the turbolift he leaned back against the wall as it rose over fifty stories to his private living quarters. He was more at home here then at his estate and even this far from the factory floor a low rumble eminated that seemed to lull him to sleep each night. It was almost like being in space.
Sitting at his desk reviewing his mail on the video screen he paused then pulled up an internal PIE employment record. There on the screen was his face, his name, his rank. There on the screen it also said "Member of PIE Inc. for 3 years".
Three years.... The True Honor is to Serve.

EXCELLENT WORK!!!! So when does the PIE showroom open to the public? It'd be nice to see all these ships docked in one place... wait... THEY ALREADY ARE! I must say the price an a brand spanking new ship with no use must be high. Pity they'll never be space faring vessels while branded with the PIE flag

I too must echo Ravin's statements. Archbishop is a beacon of strength and leadership for any dedicated loyalist, and he and his men's fine Amarrian vessel craftmanship are enough to make any pilot proud and honoured to command one of his superb creations.
Congratulations on three years of loyal service, sir. Few have served so loyally, and so well, as you. You are an example for all of PIE to follow, myself especially.

Been a pleasure to serve beside you this long, though it is but a short time when compared to the eternity of God.

Your words are inspiring, Archbishop. I can now attend my mining with even greater purpose. I now see my part in the whole.
Thank you.

While I find the vast majority of your spurious rhetoric distasteful, vacuous waffle Archbishop and despise and loath the oppresive masters you serve I must express a certain admiration for someone prepared to 'hold the course' for such a period.
That's as close as a 'congratulations' as you'll recieve, Loyalist pet.

That is the true meaning of this publication of my evening. Not to speak of shipbuilding or even an anniversary but to show we all serve God and Empire in different ways and we are all a part of the whole that is our great Amarrian Empire.
I am pleased you realize this and will work to be the best miner you can be for God. Your contributions help build our Empire. Be the best at whatever you do and give it your 100% and you will do your duty.
