How difficult is it to do a 8/10 guristas plex? How many battleships would need to be in the gang (or could it be solo'd?) Should I look into starting a 6/10 first?
Also - I've heard you can be farily safe from players in a plex because some of the rooms have "keys". Can someone explain this concept?

Most of them are farmed. It would be very difficult to run the plex without the local alliance killing you.
Also I haven't ever seen a guide to a plex besides on an alliance internal forum. Guess it's their little trade secret.

anyway, on a more serious note - if you really wanna see, get on sisi. i know it isnt its official use, but people mucking about is still useful, even if its not _as_ useful as properly testing.

I am blue to locals so they wouldn't blow me up. I'm more worred about the possibility of being blown up by rats or by ppl scanning my ass down as I'm in the plex.

Blue may not mean that you won't ruffle some feathers by running a plex if it's claimed by them. Might want to see if it is claimed (probably is), and if so, see about getting permission.
Guristas 6/10 are soloable with good tanking skills. As far as someone scanning you down - for the most part, once you have gone through a gate that requires a key you are pretty safe. Not many people would use a key to have a shot at catching you.

6/10 looks about as tough as a level 4 mission. If you can solo most of the level 4s you should be okay. 8/10 probably requires some friends.
And, as said before, the real danger does not lie in the complex, but in the alliance that shows up and finds you in the middle of their ISK fountain.
I don't know how you get the keys, but I think they are only available from agents who ask you to bring them something first (10 Dread crystal tags or something).
No one I know has ever done this, but if you could pull it off you would probably be safe in the bonus rooms of the complex.

You get the keys from special spawns within the plex (if they actually spawn).
