evening all
I currently fly a mega for my level 4 missions, i use it as its more fun and also my missile and drone skills are a little lacking behing my hybrid skills. however Im starting to get a little bored, was thinking about trying an astarte on level 4s. I have yet to try one on a level 4 and have no idea what it would be like, does anyone have any advice or even fittings for one, faction gear is fine as I don't mind spending a few bucks, and T2 grear is fine too. Chears.

7 x Heavy Ion Blaster II Web,10mn ab II, large peroxide battery and cap recharger (i should recalculate if the battery is better than a 2nd cap recharger) 2 x MAR II, Mag Stab II, the rest with cap relays.
It's nice but i cant kill anything angel because it uses base resists.
Tactics? dont attract too much attention and shoot the bs first as you'll not evade their shots like a deimos...
With cap skills at lvl 5, this setup works forever (or at least very long (20 mins or so)) -----------------------------

i used both astarte and the eos for L4 in past. Both are great, the only missions i feared was agaist angels and the sevens, due to explo dammage ( since i can usa also amarr command ship i used an astarte for those missions ).
my setup was ( if i remember well):
7x 250mm T2 1x AB, 3x cap recahrger T2 1x Corpum A-type med repairer, 4x hardeners, 1x ( small repaier, or dammage controll, or cap power relay or dammage mod.... )
I was able to do L4 missions and this was before the rig avaliability... so i guess if u put 2x ccc u will have even lesser problems. Or u should fit even a webber to help your turrets.
Cant be more specific since it's long time i dont use an astarte, missions changed a bit and rigs changed slightly the optimal setup, but i'm confident that u will enjoy the choice. ;-)
p.s) why dont use blasters: too difficult come into oltimal range... Use the AB as less u can, and use 5x light drones ( t2 ) to kill frigates dince your turrets kill cruisers, BC and Bs's. :)

Corpum .. use the Corpum .. and rat specific hardners.. (passive) and u do fine..
its a cakewalk astarte + lvl 4 .. (maxed skills then, like command 5 , gunenry bla bla and mechanical maxed )

I'm also aiming for LV4 serp missions with this baby.
Highs 7x 250mm Mid: AB2, CAP2 x3 Low 2MAR2, DCU2, 3xHard2
Rigs: CCC, SMC
Problem is I come up short of grid, but if I put on a grid rig instead, I can't run the 2 MARs. I could drop the DCU or a Hardener and put on an RCU but not sure about that... A nice faction repper may be the solution if I had the cash to splash....

Edited by: Royaldo on 04/05/2007 11:38:55 i use this on most lvl4 missions(amarr agents): 7x t2 200mm rails ab, painter, 2 cap recharge corpum a-type rep, ts medium rep, shadow serpentis mag stab, 2x ts adaptive, dc t2 2 cap rigs
but some needs more than just a boost now and then from the reps, and on these i change the cap recharges to a medium ts cap injector and a web
5 hammerheads t2.
the painter works wonders with the drones to kill inty's fast off. and i ab into range, 30km, and fire off the guns. i only bother bringing with me antimatter.

My final setup is:
Highs 7x 250mm Mid: AB2, CAP2 x3 Low 2MAR2, DCU2, 2xHard2, PDU2 Rigs: CCC, NanoPump.
5x T2 Hammers
I tried it out and found that with the PDU2 there is enough grid and enough cap regen to run all modules so put a rep amount rig on instead. I would actually like to drop a CAP2 for a painter though. as inties are a problem.
Word of warning. Mercenry wingmen = bad. Avoid. T2 Hammers can't hit them and nor can rails. plus they spit out a large explosive damage and web you. It can get very nasty.
Hence I am curious about mounting a painter to help the drones and rails. Until then I stick to Serp missions with this baby.

I've been using this for a week now. Tank only started to suffer in Worlds Collide, usually I find turret based BS's can't hit if I keep moving. You need Adv. Weapons Upgrade 4 to fit it all, and Cap Skill to max is a must, can run the repper forever, with hardners, comp and AB. :)
High: 7x 250mm T2 with Uranium (use Spike for sniping)
Mid: 10MN AB T2 Tracking Computer T2 (I get way more Wrecking hits with this) 2x Cap Recharger T2
Low: Corpum MAR 2x T2 Hardners (damage specific) Energised Membrane T2 (damage specific but usually Thermic) Dark Blood EAN (T2 works well too)
Rigs: Nanopump CCC
