One thing that I think alwas have been somewhat of a problem is that there isn't that big a reason for team play. With Castor it has gotten both better and worth. Fighting NPC is harder so more team play there, unfortunately few people actually do dare to fight the npc, for myself I'm reluctant do move pass blockades with pc pirates. And it's a giant hassle to bring together 10-20 people to force the blockades.
The missions are worriying me as they are now. We are almost 100 members in corp and of the 20 people we have online almost everyone is doing missions... alone.... that is just terrible in my opinion. If there were a lot of missions that would need team play it would be great. Shooting down really bad guys etc. I heard of some missions like these but I really don't want to do 200 missions for them.
Even mining is actually not usually worth it to do in groups, why it's hard to motivate people to do it. It is actually almost better to just mine scord yourself in a thorax and have one friend or yourself pick it up once in a while. This isn't great.
We have had operations with 30 members in them and they are usually not efficient to be as profitable if you mine in large groups. We mined scord for a few days and the isk/hour rate was going down to something like 700k/hour for an Apocalypse!
So. hmm if I may be so bold, perhaps make solo mining a little harder, so you really need an industrial ship to be there and perhaps scouts looking for ore. And most of all do the missions more team oriented.

Please, no.
Castor has already killed much of the fun for the solo players.
Nobody should be forced to play in groups just to get anywhere.
From the EVE FAQ:
"However, the level at which each player decides to participate is a matter of personal choice. The game leaves ample room for continual progress and variety in all its solo playing aspects."
We need a return to this, not more solo play nerfing.

I too would like some more team styled missions and other activities. Though I agree that forced team play shouldn't occur, so finding a way around this is needed. Possible? No idea.

you do realize it's entirely possible for groups to do the agent missions yes? I know with my agent character i'll sometimes go with 3 or 4 people in cruisers especially on the kill missions to make it easier.
Also their is psycho npc's now in deep space you can team kill as their the same as any dungeon monster. Also minning is a team aspect in eve as it's hard to mine deep space effectively alone.
Really what i'm saying is their is lots of team orriented activities. The only thing they dont have is "team missions" per say but that is not something really easily balanced in a game such as eve nor easily setup to be fair reward wise.
If they did give uber rewards for team missions you'd have a bunch of threads how CCP is only catering to the mega corps sprouting up i gurantee it. _______________________________________________________ Get custom sigs and graphics done here Unforgivn Website

3 or 4 cruiser pilots to handle kill missions?
What are you using for guns? Catapults?

No kidding, I do those alone in a Kestrel.

Seriously... if you're looking for groups of people to go hunt really bad guys, don't ask for NPCs, come down and play with real pirates. It's much more rewarding than killing the biggest scord rock or some NPC spawned for you.

Well, I can respect your opinion to have group players, but I think it's wrong to limit the game so that its impossible to play without being part of a group of players. What makes Eve so enjoyable to play is (or was) it's abitility to play anyway you wanted to, a solo pilot could compete with the big corps on the open market. No such luck anymore, I'd like to see that door left open for the little guy, at least as an option. I know lots of players who are frustrated with playing with corps. Some corps are greedier than others and it can be very hard to find the corp you enjoy being with. Give 'em a break!

As a member of a small corp, I can say that we have gone QUITE far enough toward forced grouping already. After all, my ENTIRE CORP combined can no longer mine Megacyte. My ENTIRE CORP combined can't hunt the NPC battleships. You see, we only have seven members, and only four of us have good combat skills... and three or four battleships can't handle the new top-end spawns or keep a mining party safe.
When the total number of people online in your corp is almost NEVER above 4 or 5 (and is often only 2 or 3), the game is ALREADY too group-oriented.

I think it is about right.
I dont think a copr of 4 or 5 people should be able to do everything in the game.
Without unreachable activities theres nothing to strive for.
At least you know that if you wanted to start hunting NPC Bships you could develop your corp, create an alliance etc.

Call me crazy, but I think it's absolutely ludicrous to expect a single pilot to be able to keep up with a corporation in any sort of realistic economic or militaristic model.
Can Mamasita's Pizza down the road keep up with Pizza Hut? Can Joe's Donuts keep up with Krispy Kreme? Can a third world despot keep up with the Royal Air Force or any premier military in the world? The answer is a resounding "no," and to think otherwise is just silly.
Does that mean we can't have fun? Again, a resounding NO. For those that don't want real world examples, think of that classic scifi hero Han Solo. He had his old but highly modified corvette, he makes his fair share of money. He has moments of extreme wealth, and moments where he's desperately transporting a Jedi and his apprentice across the galaxy hoping to get himself out of economic trouble.
The same holds true in Eve. A single player can have a few choice cruisers, equiped to their exacting specifications, and take on the galaxy. He can tangle with npcs in low security space, but had better stear clear of 0.0. He can mine, trade, fight, produce, or run missions. He won't get megacyte, but that doesn't mean he can't be wealthy. He won't be able to take on an npc battleship or singlehandedly bust a pirate blockade, but if he's smart and opportunistic he can exact punishment on his enemies.
I think gamers are too hung up on "winning" rather than "playing." You don't win a game like Eve. You play it while it's fun, and you quit when it ceases to be.

Actually sling shots and water ballons makes it more fun
BTW: We don't do it because we need to more so due to lack of anything to do at that time. Yes it's major overkill as 1 long range crusier or battleship could easily complete the mission. However it is fun _______________________________________________________ Get custom sigs and graphics done here Unforgivn Website

I agree totally. The options to make money for solo/small corp players is dwindling down to 2 things, mining in empire or agent missions. On the upside the agent missions are very lucritive now, which is a nice change. ------------------------------------------------

No one is suggesting small corps or solo players should be able to get as rich as the big corps... but we don't need too many things that are impossible for them to do at ALL.
For instance, what's wrong with having some Spondumain guarded by only cruisers? The big mining corps can get Ark and Bis, so they get a lot more profit... but the little guy can still mine a bit of megacyte. I'm not talking about building battleships all day long here... but replacing the occasional cruiser or selling a few frigates should be well within the reach of even the smallest corp without needing to spend twice what the minerals are worth to buy mega and zy!
Besides, why on Earth (or Yulai, for that matter) would members of a small corp ever leave Empire space now (unless they're pirates)? Can't mine... can't hunt... too small to challenge alliances in PVP... I thought CCP wanted to encourage deep space travel, not FORCE anyone who can't get a 10 man team together to stay in the Empires!

Can any of you say SHIVA. When level 4 and 5 agents come there will be a huge demand for gang play. Soo there will be level 3 agents for solo and then the next level 4 andf 5 will be corp levels. --------------------------

Forced interaction = teh suck.
You should group because you want to, not because you have to.
If you want to spend 1/2 your online life LFG and forming groups up then go play EQ. Leave that crap out of Eve.

I'm not suggesting the single pilot could keep pace with the mega corp. Sure, mega corps could reach the capacity to produce items like a BS much faster and at a faster production rate. But what's wrong with allowing a single player the opportunity to do the same? So what if it takes him 3 years to afford the BP? So what if it takes him another 3 years to mine enough ore to build one? I know plenty of shade tree mechanics that will build you a beautiful automobile that will outlast and perform anything FORD will ever roll off their production line. If everyone thought as you, we'd never have Rolls Royce, or Ferrarri.
