Hello all, I've been out of the loop far to long when it comes to Eve and fighting, and I need some serious help. I am looking for a very indepth combat guide, does such a thing (that's up to date with today's build) exsist? Also I am looking for a guide on what skills I'll need to start using all the wreckage parts I've been gathering. I am currently a Gallente, not really high on the skill tree yet, flying a Brutix. If anyone can please please please point me in a direction for this information, that would be excellent.

To get you started with EVE PVP in 2007:
- you need 15m SP minimum unless you want to be cannon fodder only, so go buy a character (buy ISK with GTCs)
- join a PVP corp and learn all the exploits and flawed game mechanics
- avoid alliances fighting for territory like the plague
Yes, it sounds like trolling but I'm 100% serious, that's my take on PVP in EVE, after playing for 2 years continuously (and having started in 2003 originally, then quitting etc.).

I'm actually looking for PVE guide, I'm one of those carebare types at the moment. Call me a wussy if you will, I just like fighting the enviroment that the makers worked their butts off to create, :)

Is that all? Hell...I've got both!
So maybe I'll start PvP'in tonight with my 900,000 SP character.

Actually you should. You dont have much to lose, and everything to win.

I have 24m SP (98% combat related) and I'm still cannon fodder
IMHO skillpoints have little or nothing to do with how good of a pvper you are. You can tackle with less than 1m, and there's never enough tacklers.
There are 2 important elements to PvP: 1. isk, can you replace your ships? 2. your brain, are you an idiot, perpetual noob, or killer?
There are 40m sp characters that will never "get it". There are 2m sp characters that have instincts and get targets tackled.
I personally would take the latter over the former in my gang any day of the week. The most powerful pvp weapon in this game is your brain, and you have it before your character is even rolled.
-Kal /*----------------------------------------------------------------------------------*/ My opinion in no way represents that of my corp or anyone I am associated with, and is probably entirely wrong. |
