That those who fought for our freedom may be remembered forever...
For the Dutch amoung us, and also many others who still know and remember..
The date May the 4th is a day of remembering those giving there lives during the days of 1940 to 1945, and in addition those who's life past away during war and freedom duty's.
The date May the 5th is the day to celebrate our freedom.
I hoop many of us can hold there guns, launchers, mining lasers and voice for two minutes out of respect for those that gave us freedom.
With respect,
Freya Selene.

Not to be a complete tool, but if we had a moment of silence for every countries day of remembrance, we'd be silent for about half the time we play EVE.
EVE is a game, people play to have fun, not to pay homage to those that died in wars.
Your request is admirable, but don't expect anything to come of it.

There are wars all over the world as we speak. If you want to show respect for people who die in wars, work to stop wars. I dont think being silent is the way.
Not that I really think you can stop wars though, but... well, sometimes I dream.

I thank those that had a moment to remember those.
As for the off topic discussions about doing something about war. my only request where to remember those that lost there lives and directed to those that cared. Why disrespecting the moment.
Regardless how we all think about war(s), sometimes you can prevent them sometimes you cant. No reason to forget those that lost there lives during it.
Signing off, Freya Selene.

Soul Harvester, while I have the utmost respect for the men and women who died in WWII, I think you're on for a bit of disappointment in Eve.
If I were you I'd just not login and hold your own private thought for a while.
Eve isn't the place, and if it were you know some asshats would come along and stomp all over it, so don't even try, you're just setting yourself up for a fall.

Weak.
War is necessary when two civilizations decide that cooperative living is impossible. The winner survives, the loser is put to the sword. Wars would be rarer and more final if we'd let them be properly brutal.

Sadly, too many people follow this definition. Otherwise we might have been able to evade the stoneage in our development as a whole race.

Magnum III, If I remember my history correct there were other countries fighting in Europe well before the US arrived. It was very much a group effort, you might want to ask the Dutch about the Canadians in particular. |

Genocide has nothing to do with it. Disease, flooding, droughts. Too many people living in crap conditions in unstable parts of the world.
Won't have to fire a single bullet in the next 50 years to watch 20% of the population pass on.

I donÆt mean no harmà but ôallowedö by who? Think about what you just said. ôAllowö implies that someone is making a rule, and if someone is making a rule then that person must have the power to enforce that rule. But, ultimately, all power comes down to pure deadly force.
Every law, rule, regulation, tax, and traffic ordnance is backed up by the fact that a government is going to send someone to kill you if you donÆt obey their rules. Sure, they may not start out by trying to kill you, they will probably start by trying to imprison or fine you. If you refuse things will escalate until they do kill you.
So, you are saying that someone should use deadly force to exterminate a nation that allows itself to be run by someone who doesnÆt refuse to use deadly force, no matter what. That donÆt make no sense.
Janu Hull has it exactly right.

All those people don't have to die if those of us with the power to do something abut it actually do do something about it.
But I get the impression you couldn't care less about other people. ---
