I'm curious what the best ship for suicide smartbombing is.
Key points: 8 smartbombs, sustainment of cap, some tank.

Just want to live long enough to kill the ships. Not sure how long it takes, therefore not sure how much tank I'll need, if any.

You'll only kill smaller stuff. Frigate sized, maybe some cruisers if youre lucky.
Oh, and 8 smarties need at least 2 heavy injectors.

Note, I don't have fittings, or even direct knowledge, but I've talked about this with corpies before, and this was the consensus.

Abaddon for resists is good, helps you survive a bit longer, and Apoc for larger cap to sustain the smarties for longer.
Amarr ships really are some of the best-suited (wow, they're good at something!!!), just load up armor plates and resist mods in the lows, injectors in the mids, and smarties in the highs.

Amarr battleships should get a smartbomb bonus or something... make em useful for something.
The glorious Amarr race reduced to suicide ganking outside Jita.

that would be awesome, i could jump into jita with a Apoc and everyone would run for cover.
Apoc is the best smart bomber, it has the most cap and powergrid at an affordable price.

Not sure how "affordable" you consider 100+ million for an Apoc but I know a guy in my old corp who would launch his smarty Geddon into station camps and suddenly theres 6-10 killmails on the board. It seemed to work out very nice and sometimes he even used faction SBs for a real pop ...of course he was rich. Hey sometimes in the ensuing chaos and panic he was able to escape :)

For suicide ganking any battleship with 8 highslots will do. You will only live 3 cycles anyway, enough to kill all T1, some T2 haulers and most mining barges.

Smartbombing ships takes a lot of CPU and PG. While Amarr is high on PG its low on CPU.
Personally i will say go with a Megathron. Load up smartbombs, cap boosters and as many plates as u can fit. And u are good to go.

Geddon is fine, you'll just need to fit some coprocessors. That extra plate isn't gonna help you too much when you are taking 1k dps from CONCORD for each ship you agress.
With the current ship prices megathron is probably just as cost effective though, and you can fit it a lot better.
edit: for suiciding in high sec and trying to tank... CONCORD only deals kin/therm dmg.
