Balanced fix for titans so they don't make support fleet obsolete

Smelt Down	Posted - 2007.05.04 23:24:00 - [1] What about changing the DDD so it is no longer damaging, instead make it a debuff. Maybe amarr's drains X amount of cap, or lowers cap regen by 7.5% per level or whatever (this seems kind of strong vs cap ships and kind of weak vs normal ships, maybe there is some better idea). Maybe minmitar lowers speed by 25% per level (this seems weak, but these are just general ideas) or maybe it is an unkillable web + warp disruption bubble that is huge, or maybe it is a combined tracking disruptor/sensor dampener thing, or maybe it lowers damage by 10% per level, (truthfully I have no idea what would be good for minmitar), maybe gallente lowers all shield resists by 7.5% per level. Maybe Caldari lowers all armor resists 7.5% per level. This is better because it doesn't make the titan an I win button alone. Just with proper usage a titan would give your fleet a huge advantage for any fleet battle. It doesn't make people who cannot fly capital ships obsolete, while it is still very strong if used correctly. Obviously these numbers or attributes are not set in stone, just a general idea I am throwing out there on my lunch break.

A DDD should disable all modules and drain the cap of all ships within its blast. POS structures for 15 minutes, capital-ship for 5 minutes, battleships for 3 minutes, battle cruisers for 2 minutes, cruisers for 1 minute, and frigates for 30 seconds. Drop the timer on the DDD to 45 minutes. 1. It makes smaller vessels "useful" in large scale combat 2. Promotion of balanced fleets 4. Doesn't "insta-pop" an entire fleet, but would allow some ability to escape 5. There is risk, in the form of ships needed to attack the partially disabled fleet 6. Still an extremely power weapon --- I'm doing my part too!

Still an extremely power weapon I honestly think that is one of the most balanced solutions that I have seen thus far. It makes a Titan a tool in a fleet but not a replacement for a large part of a fleet. /Eefrit
