NO DISCUSSION. For discussion of this offering please refer to my thread in the Market Discussion forum that can be found at http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=515816 To be fair to all existing shareholders, and to make sure that these shares are all sold at fair market value, this offering is going to be held in the form of an auction. Those familiar with the rules of Google's IPO will find that a similar system is in place here. This method of sale has been chosen for a number of reasons. It is fair to existing shareholders (ie, no underselling), it is open to the public, no private "back-room" deals will be made, and it allows investors of any financial capacity, large or small, to participate. The previous share offering went in the same fashion. You can see how this all panned out by clicking here Auction Procedure Bidders should post in this thread thier bid for shares in the format Quote: 123 shares @ 456 isk each You may bid any price above the reserve, even at bids below what others before you have posted, and you may do it at any price above the reserve price, in whole isk only (no 12000.01 bids!). If you would like to increase your bid later in the auction (ie cancel previous bid and put a new one in) please do it in the following format: Quote: Update from Post #123 123 shares @ 456 isk each You DO NOT need to do this if your old bid is under the current low price, only if you have an eligable bid and want to change it. This will make it much easier to track for me. The Post # of your original bid is at the top right of your post. The final sale price of the shares will be determined after the auction has closed. I will calculate it by gathering up all the bids and determining the cutoff point at or above which all the available shares can be sold. For example, lets say that there are 200,000 shares for sale, and the bids for shares total 500,000 shares at a range of prices. Only the highest bids adding up to 200,000 shares will be winning bids. The share sale price will be the lowest of those winning bids. This is the price everyone will pay, even if their own bid was higher. I certainly hope this system is clear for all to see, if you have any problems understanding, please post it in the discussion thread I have linked above, and use this thread only to post bids. Auction Details Total Number of Shares Available: 300,000 shares. Reserve Price/Starting Bid: 10,000 isk per unit. End Time: Tuesday 13:00 EVE time (1 hour after DT) There are no buyout rules associated with this auction. I will try to update the auction once or twice during the 4 day duration to let people know what the current cutoff price for the shares is.
