Hello,
I am a rather new player and have been working with exploration. I moved to a new alliance and a new area today. I have been exploring ALL day and have had no luck with finding relic/data sites. I have searched over 20+ systems to find not a single relic/data site except for in WH's. The WH sites are always guarded by rats so I haven't been able to find any profit at all after 6+ hours of running around searching. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to tell where people have been doing exploration? Has the respawn rate really dropped that drastically? I have been 10+ systems in both directions of my home station and still nothing. WTF? |

Badfellas Inc. are in Malapis and Covalt Edge, right? Both are Drone Space and AFAIK Drone space has no Relic and only a few Data sites. Welcome to space Sibiria. |

Not all WH space sites have sleepers, You need to be in a C1 to C3 and they will be named after a faction.. So they would have the named sansha, or Angels, or Blood raider etc in them, these sites do not have sleepers. But beware WH space, you dont see who is in local so your never sure who is in system with you. |

I've lived in Malpais for a year now and have spent a good chunk of that time scanning.
1) There are no relic sites. 2) Data sites are easier to find in AUTZ and early EUTZ. its somewhat difficult but still possible in USTZ. 3) BADI space in Malpais is always occupied. You are probably too slow to get to the sites. If you are in malpais I reccommend the systems with low ADM levels, since they are generally less traveled. (I don't know if BOT and BADI have rules about running data sites in each other's space tho)
I'm not familiar with their colbalt edge sov, so I can't tell you about scanning in there. |

Seems to me that the difficulty in finding sites is related to when you're looking for them (since if they've been around long enough, and people somewhere have been in-game long enough, they'll probably be gone, or mostly gone. Put it another way: How does the difficulty in finding sites vary with time of day in Eve? Off the top of my head, I'd guess they're easiest to find right after downtime and hardest to find right before downtime. Is this guess accurate? |

For the most part, sites respawn when someone completes them. Its the same mechanism for anoms and signatures, they just have a list of the systems they are allowed to spawn in and they pick one at random when they are completed, which occasionally is the system they just despawned from.
Since the signatures exist for something like 3 days before they self despawn, they inevitably get swept by repeated consumption in busy areas to non busy areas, after which the busy areas stop appearing to spawn up until someone goes and clears them from the non busy areas.
