I started playing with this character a few days ago. Im going Gallente ships and tech only. I was thinking about taking it slow with this one, i.e. I will use frigates until I have good tanking skills in armor and shields, and have small hybrid spec and gunnery support skills. I realize this will take a while so I will be stuck with frigates. My question is; Should I go with the Gallente Navy Comet or should stick with my Tristan? Is it worth it to spend 150k LP (or 150-250 mill) on the ship? Or should I just save them to buy something else?
Please note that I will use tech2 hybrid guns and tech2 ammo, and other tech two eq.
Thanks.

Edited by: Porter Hadlend on 05/05/2007 15:39:20 It's a frigate.
A t1 faction frigate.
Unless you REALLY want to RP it up hard.. I'd save the money and LP until at least a faction cruiser.
edit:
Assuming you want faction items at all.. you could just save up for t2

You're gonna have to try really hard to spend 150-200mil on a GNC, they usually go for about 25 mil.
And it's not really worth it. An Enyo does the same thing but better and for less than half the price.

its a tech 1.5 frig, not as good as t2 and better than t1. for 2x or sometimes 4x the price. you would be much better off with an Enyo. I have owned a navy comet, enyo, ishkur, nemesis, and helios. ishkur is the bad little drone boat, enyo is a wicked light blaster or railgun. nemesis is a tin can full of gunpowder, and helios is what it is, cov-ops.

Comets, just like every other navy/fleet frigate are not worth the money, and are otperformed by t2 frigates. Stick with your tristan and train up to a cruiser, then AF and ceptors.

I got an agent offer for a Comet at about 100K lp, it was so tempting, but the next offer was a Navy Vex, and I love the Vex but... until your skills improve the Tris is a great enough Frig, I got little blasters to t2 and rockets nearly to t2 whilst 'playing' with this, and probably as important learning how to fly it at low cost - loss! The Tris is great to learn the small, fast ship fighting stuff, and when you start taking down BC's you know you are starting to get the hang of what it can do. You want to strut your funcky stuff in hi sec, the Comet would be a good starting point, but when the metal meets the meat... prepare to loose it! When I grow up I want to fly the Enyo, I still got alot to learn tho.
