What's the big difference between the 3 different types of blasters like neutron, electron and ion? Is there situation where it's better to use one kind over other? Any input on this would be great.
Thanks

Every tried to compare htem in game with atributes etc?
Short and short
Electrons: easiest to fit. lowest damage, range but least cap drain.
Ions: Moderate damage, moderate range. relatively easy to fit (hadrer than electrons) use a bit more cap than the electrons.
Neutrons: Highest damage, longest range, hard to fit as they sue most PG adn CPU, use more cap to fire
This is the basics. cant remember tracking, but think the electrons track best adn neutrons worst. ions in the bewteen. Or ions are allways in between in all stats.

Neutrons: higher fitting requirements, do most damage, have highest range, have slowest tracking, hold least ammo before reloading, slowest rof.
Ions: moderate fitting (most people choose Ion), slight damage drop from Neutrons, moderate range, tracking, ammo capacity and a slightly better rate of fire than Neutrons.
Electrons: low fitting reqs, do least damage (considerable drop from Ions), shortest range, best tracking, holds bags of ammo, fastest rof (but piddly damage so it doesn't matter).
Looking at their stats would have told you all of this.

Edit: wow.. 3 post at the same time now mine looks stupid

Edited by: Segmentor on 05/05/2007 23:12:54 Look at their stats. They explain everything.
Electrons fit easily, use less cap, do less damage, have a limited range, better tracking and higher rate of fire than others.
Ions have more range, more damage, more cap usage, slower tracking and lower rate of fire, but also are harder to fit.
Neutrons are really hard to fit, use alot of cap, are very slow both at tracking and rate of fire, but dish out insane damage if used right.
Haha lets make this a meme thread. ___

Electrons, are the easiest fit, lowest damage/cap use/range. But still respectable damage, due to range/tracking issues, they're best used against same size or large targets, since hitting your optimal is difficult, and blaster boats aren't fast enough to outmaneveur smaller craft.
Most common use for electrons is on tanking blasterboats, that need grid/cap etc. for their tank, while still fitting high damage weapons. Can be used effectively in combation with nos on drone boats as well.
Ions, your everyday blaster, average at everything, best balance of range/tracking, is effective against both similair size and smaller targets. Has good damage output for it's cap use. Nice ROF, beautiful gun. All purpose weapon, for balanced setups.
Neutrons, hard to fit, high damage/cap use/range, but tracking can be a pain, range can be a advantage in some situations, especially agaisnt AC boats.
Most common use for neutrons is gank setups, that rely purely on damage, all neutrons 3x mag fields.

Funny, you all say the same thing
Not one person said that electrons are more eiifcient than neutrons tho
