commenting on a question of game-mechanics in CAOD is apparently trolling/flaming, so this thread will probably get nerfed. However my impression is that, however eff-ed up it may be to use a supercapital warping in to bump enemy ships out of the protection of their pos shields, there's probably not much that ccp could do given current game mechanics. Maybe the stuff about pre-loading pos on warp-in referenced a few months ago will eventually allow them an option, but otherwise my guess is that the way the game loads ship positions coming out of warp would require a major code change to "fix" this.
wrt my first statement, I guess this is probably not the correct forum for this thread, so feel free to move it where it should be instead, and my apologies for my forum noobness, pretty much only read caod and teh vids.

Just have the shield work the same way Warp Disruption bubbles work. Blamo. Fixed.

There is a simple way to prevent unmanned ships being bounced out of shields. Use one of the POS modules DESIGNED for storing them safely. The Ship Maintenance and Capital Maintenance modules are very underused, but when combined with a Corporate Hangar, do allow ships and equipment to be put away out of sight.

          maybe not a CAOD thread.
But it is pointing out to the rest of eve that its allowable (according to GMs) and therefore available to them as an option. Level playing field. Consistant decisions.
TBH its what we should expect from CCP...
  audit time? :)

I believe there are issues with maintance arrays in POS's and re-enforced mode? the IRC guys mentioned it in their thread. SJ. CLS Co-CEO and Standings Director =-

They work fine. - Your SIG is to big please reduce it to fit these limits
The size limits for signature graphics are as follows: Maximum height: 120 pixels Maximum width: 400 pixels Maximum file size: 24,000 bytes

These are no issues. They simply become inaccessible as long as the POS shield is below 50%, just like any other POS module. Considering that it only takes 10-20 minutes to shoot a POS into reinforced with a large enough dread fleet and it's very hard to defend against that since you don't know when it's going to be attacked, that makes it a bit counterproductive to store expensive ships in there.
In any case.. what people were complaining about in the other thread was logged-in people actually flying their ships getting bumped out of the force field and subsequently DDed I thought. Not sure what a ship maintenance array would have helped for that.

I'd say there is a way to protect against it...
Deploy enough medium/large bubbles around the POS shield. It's a double-edged sword. But for now, it's the only solution. Until the bubbles are destroyed that is. :P »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»
