Gimme a second here...

There. All ready.
Anyways.
I'm looking to diversify my MMOG experience. Currently I have Lineage 2 and Everquest 2 on my list. Obvious choices.
What else is out there that's worth a try? Suggestions?
Note: (1) Obviously these game(s) must have a free 14-day (or something) trial, (2) you can cross WoW and Vanguard off - I got the t-shirt, (3) I don't want to hear how EvE is the best thing after birth-control pills and how everything else sucks, only suggestions.

Edited by: Kapoios on 06/05/2007 10:43:27 try saga of ryzom http://www.ryzom.com/ i was going to write some info but i after i wrote it i realized how much it looked like a 10year old review but the info in the main page is more than enough...oh, and the community really is mature the mainpage does not lie Try it out there is an unlimited free trial in an island (ala EQ2 without time limit) although it's not what you'll expect in mainland since the trial island is full with quests while mainland is not. |

I haven't played it at all, but at launch, EDGE slated it because there were so many crippling bugs - and that was at retail launch, not a beta testing period.
Heard nothing about it after that until the same magazine previewed Ryzom Ring, which was... *tries to count the months* *fails* ...last year, I think.
Anyways, the OP could try Dofus. Yeah... freebie... isometric... turn-based scrapping... but all good. (Shame about the idiots though... I came across one acting 'gangsta' the other day)

Ugh...Rf Online. I thought it was absolutely terrible.
I cancelled my subscription after founding out how much grinding was needed. Seriously, I had to kill sooo many of the same monsters over and over to gain the tiniest bit of xp...
And I couldnt pvp until i reached a certain level because i would just get killed in one shot.
It looked great though

Edited by: The Pointless on 06/05/2007 23:44:36 I'd also avoid ArchLord as well. Codemasters made it free to play in Europe at least, but there's a shedload of grind, and the Death Penalty system adds to the grind by removing a chunk of your XP. Sort of like when you get podded in EVE without an up-to-date clone, only there are no cushions like that in ArchLord.
Still, the manga looks OK. Well, it's not really manga, being Korean and in left-to-right format - I think the actual term for it is 'manhua'.

yer the game looked awesome and the chip wars were fun after a certain lvl but getting to that lvl and getting equipment for you char was worse than L2
I canceled my sub after 1 month of payed play, played the beta from start to finish though.
