Unless I happen to have a freighter, which I don't. I keep getting storyline mission offers to haul 40,000m3 of crates It used to be 8000m3 of kernite, which I could do no probs, but now I've had this mission offer 2 times in a row, for a lousy 5 mill isk...it's not the money that bothers me, but the fact that I miss out on improving my faction standings...it seems the mission offer is in a loop...any ideas? The storyline agent is not courier oriented btw, but the agent I use for my lvl4 missions gives both courier and kill missions....but at least his courier missions are do-able in an indy...

You don't need to take all of it in one go? Do multiple runs?

Edited by: Rod Steel on 06/05/2007 10:44:48 Not an option best I can tell, and it's a very limited time frame I have to do it in...certainly not enough time to run backwards and forwards 4 - 5 times.

That "limited timeframe" is merely for the bonus. If you only care about standings anyway, might as well forefit the bonus altogether and to it slowly but cheaply.
P.S. You can set up an Iteron V to haul more than 40,000 m^3 of cargo (in one run). _ MySkills | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |

Did you look at time for completion or the time that's next to the 2nd line which says you gain X if you complete before "insert short time here"?

An Iteron III with 3 good cargo expanders can move that stuff in 4 runs.
And who cares if you miss the bonus. The mission itself you will probably have a couple of days to finish. ------------------ Hannobaal is looking for a corp. Make him an offer. |

Yes, besides even completing the mission but missing the bonus at least you get out of the loop. Don't lose sight of the forest for the trees.

Isn't this the mission that gives you the +4 or the mining foreman implant?
Just get on with it, it'll only take you an hour if you haul arse.

If the time bonus is that important I guess you always can bring some friends in haulers as well.

I hauled that stuff with a Iteron 5 with warp core stabilisers, AND managed to do the bonus too, just do multiple runs

some how i managed to do this exact same mission in the alloted time using a hauler. Did i mention i did it in low sec solo as a -10 criminal, over 7 jumps 4x in a row (56 total jumps if your counting).

You just dont see that this courier mission give a faction hit of 8,05% (for me). And a 40% corp hit (not this important but still nice). But the "get me kernite" mission only give a lousy hit of 0,7% (roundabout).
I had to fly the way 4 times to get the 40.000m^3 to the station, but i still made it in time for the bonus (5 million ISK). But compared to the insane faction hit the bonus is not important.

You're sure about that? My Iteron V (which requires skill level V so the ship bonus is the same for everyone) capped at roughly 25k with giant containers.
I didn't use rigs though. These can push it over 40k? Neat. --

An Iteron V with 5 Expanded Cargohold II's and 3 t1 cargo rigs will give you 38433 m3, without using any containers.

If you're talking about having to transport 40 1,000m3 crates, then you will need to make several trips. Just suck it up and start hauling. (Took me seven round trips (four jumps each way) in a Badger I and I still made the time bonus.
Tips and Tricks for the non-industrial focused: 1) Low level Iterons are substandard compared to other faction haulers. If you have level 3 frigate in Amarr or Caldari, their industrials have much larger cargo space than a corresponding iteron I (or Iteron III in the case of the Amarr.)
Amarr Industrial I -> Bestower 4800m3 (4 low slots!) Caldari Industrial I -> Badger I 4125m3 (2 lows) Minmatar Industiral I -> Wreathe 3300m3 (2 lows) Gallente Industrial I -> Iteron I 3000m3 (2 lows) Gallente Industrial III -> Iteron III 4875m3 (3 lows)
A Bestower with 4 Cargo Expanders I's can haul 9604m3. 13314m3 with Cargo Expander II's. An Iteron III with expanders can only carry 8301m3 or 10606m3 by comparison.
2) Warp to Zero is your friend. Set the destination. Reverse sort the distance column in the overview. The next stargate in your jump is colored yellow. Click the yellow stargate, click warp to zero, wait for warp to finish, then click the jump button when it highlights. Repeat. Use the mission briefing to set your destination. Fast but boring, which is why you use alt-tab to browse the web in the meantime.
3) Use cargo-expanders. (Duh.) Buy good ones and sell them back when you're done. The time you save should easily make up for any transaction fees.

Using T2 Cargo rigs (2 of them, 1 T1), and T2 Cargo Expanders, you can get an Itty V up to a cool 41839 m3 of cargo....
It'll move like a brick and be thin as paper though

Think you are wrong on your P.S. a friend of mine in bob fitted out an itty with rigs and cargo mods and I think the best he got was 37k. Unless you know about some faction cargo expanders or something :)

Correct.
30.000m3 filled with 10 Giant Secures = 39.000m3 + 7000 = 46.000m3
or go all out with 12 giant secures for 46.800 + 1000 = 47.800m3 ---

Doesn't work for this particular mission. Each object is 1km3 so you can still only fit 3 into a giant container... Unless your refering to using T2 rigs...
Assuming you can find any, I seriously doubt you'll find them for under 300 mil each.
A T2 fitted Itty 5 (no rigs) should be able to move the lot in 2 runs though. And the mission that Used to be 8000 units of kernite is still there... I think you're confusing them somehow ___________

My alt's Occator with all t2 expanders and 2x cargo rigs, I get 35.5k m3 or thereabouts and with giant secure containters I can easily hit 46k. It's sweet what can I say?

I am currently doing this mission as I am posting on the forums. You have 2 hours to do the mission including bonus, for me its only a 16 jump round trip mission all told (4x 2 jumps each way) but if someone can do 52 jumps in 2 hours then I am fair certain you can too.

damn right :P try it in low sec as a criminal where anyone can shoot you any time for any reason in any ship and stabs are your only real defense... also concord wont fire back just because your in a hauler. Makes it real fun running the same rout for over an hr.
