Edited by: Miz Fit on 07/05/2007 15:27:03 Skiffs seemed a great little ship when they first came out, but now in hindsight it's apparent that they play absolutely no role in the game which can't be bettered by something else.
What's the point of them anymore?
CCP should either buff them or remove them in my opinion.
Does anyone have a different opinion of them, is there any reason in their present form to remain in the game?

Was that comment really necessary, how about just answering the OP's question or making a counter point.
To answer the original poster: The Skiff is the best miner of Mercoxit ingame. It does have its uses. It is also very agile for a ship of its type.

The real question of course is: With morphite prices where they are, why mine mercoxit at all? --- Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. - Emerson |

The problem is not that Skiffs suck... the problem is that Skiffs are so good at what they do that one alone can supply a mid-sized alliance with Mercoxit for their tech 2 production

...well, except to build skiffs out of them.
The funny thing about the skiff though is that while it's the easiest Exhumer to use, it's the one that takes the highest skill to be effective. It only outmines a Hulk or even a covetor at Exhumer IV (and then it's marginal). It's really only at V that it has a significant advantage (except in price). ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it. I understand that there is a bit of sarcasm/irony in there, but to remain entirely humourless... ...I've known plenty with just Exhumer IV, or even just III.
Of course that's generally people with mining as their "So I'm not PvPing right now" pastime. Especially if their alliance has "safe" areas where they can get their hands on Arkonor/Bistot (although I suspect ft's only true of Arkonor areas these days with the awful Zyd prices). ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it.
