So ive seen it in the varriant page, and ive herd its 'rare' but how does one go about geting one?

Last I heard there was something like 6 of them still in existence ingame. Rare is a massive understatement. Chances are you will never meet anybody who has seen one, let alone see one yourself or have a chance to buy one.

to my understanding, there was at some stage a competition and 10 people were given 5 run bpc's for guardian vexors. so there was 50 to start with that were built, rumor has it that we're down to less than 10 left in the game now

He had his opening bid at 8billion. Didn't succeed in auctioning it but is willing to sell.
There was a silver magnate for sale a couple weeks ago as well, 10bil opening bid if I remember correctly. Would make a nice grocery getter ,-)

I've had two in my possession at the same time about a year ago. Chances are that you'll encounter more people who have owned one in the last few years  .

damn its a shame such a neet ship is so hard to get..i mean its not "UBER" but it would be fun..

Not uber? Pre-RMR, you could fly 15 heavy drones with an Ishtar. RMR saw that reduced to 5, but the strengths of the drones were tripled in every respect...at least that's what CCP claims...there's really no good way to check it. With the G-V, you either get ten or 15 drones (10 I think). To a fully-skilled drone pilot, that's pretty damned good.

yeah yeah that's all cute and all.. but if for the same price you can get a fitted archon and thanatos and the skills to fly them... well..
I wish i bought some a few years back, but right now, they would be for the collection value only ... heck with all the suicide attacks in eve today you'd prolly be cought dead flying in one :/

I have a thanatos and maxed drone skills. You can't rat in one. Well, you can, but your efficiency sucks because of the speed. If you're collecting loot or have an alt or buddy salvaging, I've long felt the Ishtar was the best ratter in terms of survivability and speed (getting to cans, warping from belt to belt, closing for engagements, etc). If you had a G-V, your efficiency would just about double, simply from the faster kills. I've never lost an Ishtar while ratting and I've operated out of 0.0 for the last two years.

I'm pretty sure it hasn't got a bonus to drone damage, nor enough room to have 10 heavy drones out, so no, it wont double your eficiency.

yep should have bought em when they were 500 mil. But tbh, they are just crap standard cruisers anyway. It looks the same, only cool thing is the +1 drone lvl, but thats it.
