Edited by: Shardrael on 11/05/2007 04:37:29 RISE et all we fought against in Feyth, from me I would like to offer thanks.
I have been involved in this whole deal since just before the ASCN BOB war went off and had honestly grown quite tired of the way fleet ops seemed to be handled in this game what with all the pos camping etc. you all proved that pvp was the most fun aspect of this game and I am very thankful for it. To quote the OP a fresh breath is exactly what this was
been playing about a year and a few months now and in that time all of the most enjoyable battles(wins and losses) have been against you all.
what we had going here was a different way to play this game and a different way to treat those that you engage. From my perspective it was a far better way then what has become the norm and my only hope is that this level of conduct spreads forth across the eve universe
/salute Feyth residents and RISE

Originally by: LoKesh Edited by: LoKesh on 09/05/2007 21:43:54 Yesterday's surrender of Intrepid Crossing to Allied forces represents the end of an enjoyable chapter in RISE history. From the day IRC sided with the Coalition we have truly enjoyed facing them in combat. IRC was willing to bring a good solid fight, no matter what the conditions. Of the Coalition members that have come looking for RISE blood they pressed the assault longer than many others. (Indeed they are the ONLY member of the Coalition who has fought with RISE to a definitive end) Our fights with them remained smack free, respectful and honorable. We have not seen such good form from the other members of the Coalition - our ongoing battle with IRC provided a much needed breath of fresh air.
It is my sincere hope that we will have the chance to meet you again, whether across the field of battle or standing together against a common foe.
Intrepid Crossing, the pilots of RISE salute you.
Sincerely, Lokesh
(edit to change IXC to the correct IRC)
I do apologize for the lateness of a response to your most kind and generous words and those of most posters herein. I have been and continue to be a tad busy with important operations.
On behalf of the many pilots of IRC, I would like to thank our most worthy opponents of the past months for the fun as well as the smack free environment.
IRC aspires to the highest standards of honor, respect and integrity in all activities in our game. It is gratifying to discover so many other good pilots who equally hold to that standard.
Intrepid Crossing salutes our foes recognizing the good fights brought and the fun had by all. We say..."If it isn't fun, why play?" Our opponents have provided much fun. Thank you for that as well as the most kind words in this thread.
Most respectfully,

Intrepid Crossing (IRC) would like to return the sentiments expressed by RISE, GONADS, etc. Our rather numerous battles over the last 2-3 months have all been straight up, respectful, and smack free. And, fun! Some single battles lasted over 20 minutes! And, no matter who won a particular engagement, all parties treated each other with respect.
While IRC might today still be in pitched battle, even against the odds, once BoB showed up with its Capital Fleets, including Titans, Motherships, and enough carriers and dreads to blot out our sun, we new we were a tad out-gunned! We are Intrepid, not stupid. We can still count and there was nothing we could do against vastly overwhelming firepower.
IRC salutes the victors. Thanks for the good fights and the mutual respect. It's what makes EVE worthwhile!
Look for us. We are Intrepid. We will be around for a long time!

Thanks to RISE for all the good times!
Unfortunately I was leaving for vacation on April 30th, and the POS-spam fight started like, two days before that. :( I knew I wouldn't be back for almost two weeks, and I expect to have sparse time for another week or two yet. ATION was a newer member to the IRC alliance, and I just didn't feel we had the leadership in place to handle what was going on while the CEO took a month off. Thus, the tough decision was made to disband ATION and send our members on their own way. Some joined the other IRC corps, while others moved off on their own.
I formed ATION with a few friends of mine around December after I left ASCN, when they fell to BoB. It grew quickly, peaking at about 70 members. We spent the last month and a half with IRC down in Feyth. It was fun while it lasted!
Sorry to everyone for not being in on the fighting when everything went down. Hope Digital Renegades enjoys their new homes. Remember to feed the goldfish please. And RISE, I hope things don't get too boring around the triangle now that you're surrounded by friendlies! Good luck to you guys. Now it's time to find the next path for me... like I said to one of the DR guys the other day, what's the fun in holding stuff if you can't loose it? :P Maybe I'll go be a carebare in Empire for a bit... Evemon says I'm only 9 days away from a Retriever...

Not that any of this matters, but I did just want to add in some footnotes.
AWE and D-R both did what we could as part of ASCN. I didn't track AWE's numbers as much, but in D-R, we were in the top 10 by # of kills for the whole war, and we weren't ganking miners in Delve. Especially being a smaller corp, I was pretty happy with that.
However, we started out in ASCN as a tiny corp of ~10 long time friends, and didn't really push beyond that much until 6-8 months before the war. We didn't have the assets or skills built up to make a big impact on the war alone, so when major players started dropping out, there wasn't much left for us to do. That said, we probably would have stayed for the 'Alamo' in RIT, if only the remaining corps would have all banded together and stood in one system - but half wanted to stay in the south, and half in RIT.
So, with ASCN basically dead, it was time to look at our own future. All our assets were tied up in a station - leaving it would have made it take a lot longer to build our forces. So, we bit the bullet, paid Bob to continue staying in our station, and put into place a building process for the time in the future when someone would move against Bob. (During that 2 months, we built 7 Dreads and over 20 carriers in IRC). Everything was moving along as intended - except for a miscalculation in how soon other forces would decide to move against Bob. My minimum estimates to carry out our plans called for at least one more months time - but events conspired against us, and we didn't get that time. Looking back, we probably should have held tight for a while longer, as it looks like the initial push was a 'false start', with the players involved in that push quickly falling by the wayside. Meh, that's what hindsight is good for, right?
As a minor point of interest, the very weekend Digital Renegades decided to POS spam ZS, we had moved supplies into place and were planning to do the very same thing in the RIT triangle. Given our previous engagements with Rise when the pressure was on, it would have been some awesome battles I think.
