I was wondering if you can buy the game in store as opposed to online, and continue your character from the trial?
On that note, when the trial is finished and you upgrade to a full account, do you keep your character?
Thanks in advance.

I don't think a new EVE CD has been printed in the last 3 years, so finding it in a shop will be quite hard.
And yes, you do get to keep your character and everything.

If you do manage to find an actually store copy of the game (check online stores and discount bins), while you will still have to make a new account with the CD key, you can petition to have your trial character transfered to the CD account for free.
Upgrading from the trial, this is of course not necessary.

I can tell you the chances of you finding it in North America is slim, infact I don't even remember it being sold in the stores even 3 years ago.
Needless to say you would be better off just buying a GTC from their online shop, if you don't want to have a "subscription" to play. Although that makes no sense considering it would be a pain having to purchase the card each month.

I don't mind the subscription, but I like in the UK, and it is in several shops (at a low low price aswell :D).
Will someone explain how this petition system is, and how likely it is my character will get transferred.
Thanks.

if you are thinking of buying in a shop be aware that the client on the disk is VERY VERY old!
you will have to download the latest client from here....
and you can click here to create a petition (which is basically a message) to the billing team and they will get back to you.

Thank you very much.
I already downloaded the client, didn't take long at all.
I just like owning my games physically.

Um, Zero
I dont suppose you'd be willing to say where you've seen it on sale? (which shops) I've been after a disk for ages but most online ones ive found are ú30 plus, which makes it cheaper to subscribe for me (I cant do this at the moment)
Thanks in advance

aye find a digital download somewhere, IF you can get it cheaper than 20 bucks. (what the first months activation would be after the free trial, if you just downloaded it)
I'm a fileplanet paying subscriber, and I earned enough "hitpoints" through renewals I was able to download EVE as if I bought it, with 30 days included. Pain was it still asked for a credit card when I activated it, but that isn't charged until after the 30 days.
course, nearly all subscription based games are like that now...

I thought it was Ç19.99?
I converted that to about ú13-ú15.
I guess it's about ú8-9 a month.
Anyone know how right/wrong I am?

If you download the game from this site, trial, and then pay..
Your first monthly payment is $20 US. This covers you "buying" the game so to speak along with the first 30 days. (this is why I said if you can't find it for less than 20 at a store or digital download site, don't bother, just get it via trial)
Every month after that is $15 US. Sorry, not familiar with other currency as of late since it's been jumping around.
