Sorry to all you hosts out there. But we really, really, REALLY need CCP to put up an all-EVE killboard. Having one would dispense with a lot of the propaganda/false propaganda so prevalent on CAOD and other forums.
Wow. It might even engender a little less smack and a little more respect amongst players.

I think this is an excelent idea.
Ship destructions and pod kills are already dealth with by concord via the eve-mail system.
so why not have it sent to a DB. accessilbe on eve-o site and in-game.
where quite simply, it posts the concord kill mails.

It will be going into a DB soon, and kill mails will no longer be sent. As stated in the first live dev blog. Players/corps/whatever, will then be able to export the data and use it however they like.
So I don't think there will be an EVE-wide kill board per say, but the kill/loss data will be more easily available and accessible for use. Listen to or read the transcript of the blog if you want more details.

Agreed and disagreed. Agreed because it would cut down some of the crap in COAD, disagreed because killtrackers are already used for too much e-peening and an official one will only make it worse.

I disagree becouse we dont need kids killing all around just becouse wanna be #1 in off killboard...

That's how it works right now, we just have multiple killboards hosted by individual corporations and alliances.
Although I always have said that killmails need to be centralized into the eve servers as a contracts-like system.

Funnily enough I kind of favor the current situation, I just wish killmails gave more information (no truncations, don't send mails to NPCs, that sort of thing).
It's not like CAOD would be improved by 'official' killboards anyway, and what's EVE without opportunities to outright lie to people.

I'd have to agree it would be nice.
Could even make it update only 1 time every month.
Then there will be much anticipation on the day to see who has been spanked for real and who just smacked it up.
A lot less 1-sided reports (although many are now quite good), less scavenging fo killmails that members "failed" to post etc etc. Would be superb to be able to just forget about the killboards or make it a datafeed once a month so ppl still can fuzz with killboards if they want to... just that they are updated automatically.

One month update would also require less server strain and the anticipation for it would be rather interesting. I guess some will start betting on how many alliance x looses to alliance y
