Hey all, I'm creating a 2nd account to use as a miner.
Is it possible to create a half decent mining character from the outset? Like able to use mining cruisers? Or able to use Miner T2s or something?

tech II mining lasers are possible. you can start with 5 mining. they only need 4.
race - Industry - Prospector, have that atleast minie and gallente.

Don't do Gallente for a mining cruiser. Caldari and Minmatar have the uber mining cruisers.

Caldari / Minmatar Prospector + 1 week = mining cruiser (excellent skills)
Minmatar Engineer + 1 week = ice mining barge (average skills)
Caldari / Minmatar special forces + 1 day = mining cruiser (poor skills)

i disagree, the vexor makes a very handy mining crusier... when you think mining crusier you think the tier one logistic crusier but the tier 2 vexor with 10% to drone yield per crusier level is very usefull. With 5 drones and 4 mining laser 2's and whatever mining upgrade you have skills for the vexor is a very sucessful mining crusier. also the gallenet mining frigates are very very good, the imicus can have 3 drones mining and with good skills those 3 drones with 2 mining lasers is a fine yield for a frig, and the navitas, the mining frig has a nice bonus aswell..
i mined in a vexor for a while then moved up to domi, not much of a miner but but it had to be done... YARRR!
