siege mode for carriers, but removes the ability to use drones while activated, basically it turns a carrier/mothership in to a pure logistics platform for the front line. ----------------------------------------------

I see it as a "Crap I'm screwed at this rate, go turtle and hope help arrives in time" kind of thing.
Cuts off all of the carrier's offensive capability in return for massively boosting it's tanking and logistic abilities. ----------------

AFAIK that's the intention. Named and T2 Cap transfers create cap as well. The "penalty" is that you need two people fit specifically for it to get any gain out of it. You also get a better cap spent:HP gained ratio with shield transfers and remote reps and boosters than you do with personal ones. -----

300 cap/s per module is a pretty damn stupid intention. If I had to guess, it goes hand in hand with EW immunity since it's copying every other mechanic of siege mode.
Removing even more dynamics from capital warfare and marginalizing support entirely goes completely against what all the outcry lately has been about :/

Is this a new thing? I've never had trouble with my remote reps/transfers. Both shield and armor transfer range of my thanatos is 52.5km, with energy xfer at 15km (since Thanatos gets no bonus for that).
Do you mean that the transfer range bonuses don't work for non-capital logistics mods? They don't, nor were they ever meant to. It's intended.

don't worry, Triage is perfectly vulnerable to remote sensor dampening, extremely even, more so then what carriers now have trouble with ..

Arn't these things going to be logistics ship mod as well?
what i read u should be able to fit them on carriers and the logistics cruisers, which might finally give that one a decent role.
but it's beeing tested, so we will see what happens. CCP, let us pay the online shop with Direct Debit!!!

Might as well give all of them resistance bonuses if they are going to be sitting on the front line, otherwise in their intended role two are going to excel...

How sure of that are you?
A Thanatos has a 334.72384km locking range with the setup you describe. A Maulus with a maxed-out Eos behind it, using three best-in-game dampeners and two dampener rigs, will drop the Thanatos' locking range to 8,251m.*
Game, set, match to the dampener frig. Care for a rematch?

*: I'm a bit too lazy to do the numbers with less-impressive fittings and friends, but I feel pretty confident that the Arazu/Lach could make up for shortcomings with its fourth dampener and the fact that the target range is 40km, and when we're dampening down to 8.25km, that's a hell of a lot of wiggle room.

A Capital Shield Booster uses 2,400 cap per cycle (4 sec?) with a -50% duration bonus thats 1,200 cap per second,
At that rate the carrier will be out of cap and a dead in space sitting duck in under a minute.
The carrier will need some pretty SERIOUS cap injection to sustain all those logistics modules.
So as it stands atm, it looks pretty useless

The mod does exactly what I said, nerfs offense in return for defense (both your own and others you happen to be supporting). That will be used in exactly the situation I described, in the hope that it can get the carrier to last long enough for support to arrive. ----------------

carriers need a cargo bay boost in order to carry strontium for this.. also the transfers need a larger range boost (to maybe 70/80km) as the anti-blob weapons are supposed to coming in but a stationary carrier with a 45km xfer range will mean a blob around that carrier. _________________________________________________________

Will carriers be able to remote rep each other if in 'triage mode'? If the same applies as it does to siege mode, then remote repping won't be possible - dreads in siege mode can't be remote repaired
