Edited by: Bonker''s on 12/05/2007 23:51:23 Hiya I just recently bought my Slicer, don't think i'll risk it in PvP yet but if I did I would probably go for the bleeder setup (partially modified), anyways i'm going to be using it for level 1 & 2 missions.
Level 1 missions are a breeze in almost any ship, so it will be the pesky level 2's that this will show if it is a workable setup. Also please try not to flame, and if there is anything you don't like please post a way in which YOU think it should be.
Got that cleared up, heres my setup
3x Medium Beam Laser II(Weap Upgrades 4)
1x 1MN Afterburner II 1x Cap Recharger II
1x Small Armor Repairer II 1x 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates 1x Capacitor Power Relay II 2x Micro 'Vigor' I Core Augmentation
CPU: 147.1 - 150 (Weapon Upgrades level 4 & Electronics level 4) PG: 82 - 85.2 (Engineering level 4)
Rigs:
Anti-Explosive Pump I Anti-Kinetic Pump I Anti-Thermic Pump I
The price of this aint too high, I would of gone Amarr/Ammatar faction mod's, but I find some T2 has a better/cheaper place on the ship. I would also look at a setup i've created and think "Ye look's perfect", but this 1 seems to not give me that kind of feeling.
Suggestions please
EDIT - Also I have added the plate (which some people think is stupid on missions), reason being is i get my extra resists from the rigs... so why not

They can't help it. Some people simply can't understand that not everyone powergames. Some people like doing things because it is different , cool or fun.

Well it essentially is the same ship, but better. It's not like im telling you to use a cruiser or anything, it's still a frig, and still amarr.
Just accept it, T2 frigs have better resists, better bonuses, and better damage. You don't even need to think about rigs with them for missions. They don't cost nearly as much to lose in case of lag or anything else, but if you have an unlimited wallet...
Ahh well, here's to another fool trying to make use of a collector's item which belongs on a shelf. ________________________________ KIA Recruitment

Drop the plate, plating in PVE is a big no-no, as it will never offer you enough HP bonus to make a difference. In PVP it's ok because it means you'll live longer, maybe long enough to kill the other guy. Not going to happen with the NPCs, PVE is all about sustainable setups.
Pop in a CPR or an EANM or something, and the decreased grid usage might allow you to switch out one of the MAPCs for something else. ----------------
If you're on IE, pretend this is transparent while you get a browser that supports .png. |

I don't quite get that as basically 1 goes against the other, why am I a fool for using something that YOU think belongs on a shelf.
Considering I have quite abit of ISK I can't be a fool for using it, as then again i'm not going against the 1 rule of EVE (Don't fly what you can't afford to lose)
Who gives a crap about T2 ships?? I don't.. Basically this is just an alt taking advantages of having a decent ship that can be effective in not even half the time, that a T2 ship would take.
I think it is you who is the fool

I'll have a mess about with it an do what you said, see if I can cook something abit better up :), Im thinking of going Medium Pulses that would defenetly free up a low slot instead of the extra MAPC..
Atleast there are a few decent people on the forums..

I believe he reacted in this way because he asked for suggestions on his set-up... Not an easier / better way to run the missions.
I can see where your coming from in that an AF / Ceptor would do the job better though.
@OP
I had a slicer for a short while, and used a similar setup. Tried with a pulse setup too but not really much good for frigs in LV1's

I've got a Slicer and a Comet of my own and I quite enjoy using them. It's true that they're not as good as T2, but I have T2 as well, and I use each when I want to. ----------------

*******s, I've even done a couple of Level 3's in mine.
Can't remember exactly what setup I used but it was something like:
3 x Dual Light Pulse II 1mn AB II, Eutectic Cap Recharger Small Repper II, 2 x EANM II, Internal Force Field Array, Heatsink II
Not enough cap to run everything permanently but cycling the repper/AB as needed works fine.
For level 1 and 2's I reckon you could swap an EANM for another heatsink. You might be able to do the same on 3's if you go for specific energized resistances rather than EANMS.
It's a fun ship, nice and agile with decent damage but the extra low means you can tank it almost like a punisher. Enjoy! -------------- Poisoning the Chalice: Smartbombs as a Counter to Nos. |

Drop the plate, if you're resists are good enough you should be ok if you're speed tanking.
Just don't sit still.
Personally I'd go with T2 pulses, and a triple heatsink setup instead of the plate and MAPC with your resistance rigs.
Should do a fair bit of dps for a cruiser with it's bonus adn 3 HS II/Extruded HSs

What I've got fitted to my Slicer worked for the all the level 2's I tried it on.
3x Ammatar Navy Medium Beam Laser (Radio S)
1MN Afterburner II Ammatar Navy Cap Recharger
Ammatar Navy Small Armor Repairer 2x Amarr Navy Heat Sink Micro 'Vigor' Core Augmentation Capacitor Power Relay II
Kites frigs and destroyers before most of them even have a chance to fire, speed tanks cruisers like a charm. Runs everything pretty well, but you have to pulse the repper. Wouldn't recommend it against missile heavy missions unless you have a lot of time to burn.
If you want to run pulses instead, maybe drop one of the heat sinks for an energized plating, packs of destroyers at close range can hurt.
Also looks nice when you put it back on its shelf (WTB - Amarr/Ammatar Navy CPR ).

Yes, it does do a fair bit of damage.
Currently flying;
3 Med Pulse IIs, Conflag/Multi/Scorch depending on situation Cold-gas, Eutectic Cap recharger DB SAR, 2 Adaptive Nano membranes, 2 Extruded Heatsinks
It ate up my mate's Gallente Comet I fought today and spat it out a burning mess.
For level 1s atm;
3 Med Pulse IIs, Conflag/Multi/Scorch depending on situation Cold-gas, Eutectic Cap recharger DB SAR, Energized Adaptive Nano membrane, Adaptive Nano membrane, Extruded heatsink, Mark I CPR
