Hello,
Today when i came home from work, my Windows automatically updated with Creators update and then updated AMD Crimson drivers. And after that i have a problem with the EVE client. I'm playing all my games in fixed window, i'm used to alt+tab to win alot. But after few alt+tabs, or minutes EVE freezes. I can still hear sound from youtube, spotify or whatever program i'm using, but i can't do a thing until i hard reboot my pc. I can't even open task manager, ctrl+alt+del does nothing at all too. It pisses me off.
Do anyone else experiencing such issue, or know what to do in my case? I don't have backup point created and i already rerolled to previous AMD driver version. |

Can't say this is a definitive solution, and I've been fortunate thus far to have held off on the Creators update until I see how the deployment is going, but I've heard that the new "Game mode" in Windows 10 may be causing some issues, and that disabling it, assuming it's still possible to do so, may resolve those issues.
Just a thought. Hope it helps. |

Having the exact same issue, I can alt tab a few times but after a while, it will lock up it the only option is to do a hard restart on my PC. I am also experiencing frequent crashes but it might be unrelated. I have an Nvidia GPU and am running in borderless window mode. |

Same issue here.
Atl+Tab works fine unless i tab to something java heavy. Like Fuzzworks website or PYFA. Only alt+tabbing to youtube does not freeze my computer.
I do run win10 64-bit with an nvidia card. |

I reinstalled EVE and deleted the "/*WindowsUserNameHere*/AppData/Local/CCP" file which was over 1GB in size and it seems to have fixed the issue. Make sure to back up the "settings_Default" folder located in "/*WindowsUserNameHere*/AppData/Local/CCP/EVE/e_program_files_(x86)_eve_sharedcache_tq_tranquility" as this contains all your in-game settings. You might want to try doing this before reinstalling EVE. Best of luck. |

I don't have folder like that on my disk. There is no AppData in my User folder. |

Hey,
had the same issue. For me doing this fixed it:
right click the eve.exe go to compatibility check "deactivate fullscreenoptimization"
Actual option names migth have been suspect to creative translation. |

Playing for an hour atm, alt+tabing like crazy. Seems like this worked for me. But we'll see.
Edit: OK, it didn't worked. Got freeze again. |

I tried all above to no avail. Then I went to "ESC->chat->eve voice" make sure it is off. It is a huge hog and was turned on for me (by default I think) worked fine ever since.

Same issue here recently from time to time, running amd r9 280x gpu intel i5 2500k and windows 10. Really annoying, sometimes also takes multiple computer restarts to make launcher acctualy launch the game again. |

Guys. I think I've found the culprit!
It's the Game DVR background capture!
1. Go to "All settings" via the win 10 controls to the right of you task bar clock 2. "Gaming"->"Game DVR" 3. Deactivate the "background capture"
Now you can use the game mode (which I hope will kick in when participating in large scale fleet fights) but don't get f***ed by not being able to use your browser while gate camping or w/e :DD
CCPls look into that if you can, as this feature is espacially great for eve IMO!
Cheers! |

I'm running Windows 7 and have been suffering from EVE freezing my computer for roughly a week now, so the problem is likely not limited to Windows 10. This happens only with EVE, no other game or application is giving me problems. For a graphics card I got an Nvidia GTX 670. |

I'm having this same problem, it's pretty consistent. When I'm running both clients and attempt to alt-tab the video freezes. I can still hear audio, use push to talk on Teamspeak and see the mouse cursor move, but other than that, there's no functionality.
I've disabled all the Game DVR settings (native and xbox app) w/ the new Windows 10.
I'm starting to think it's an error with Eve, as i haven't yet experienced this with any Steam or Blizzard games.
I've tried rolling back drivers, disabling v-sync, all sorts of options, without any success as of yet.
As a final note - Apparently my version of windows won't even let me reload to the prior non-creators update version, so. Lol. |

I am having this problem as well, as soon as the creator's update installed. I have tried rolling back to no avail. I have swapped from fixed window to window mode and while it still happens a couple times an hour but at least it usually doesn't require a full system restart. In fixed window it would lock up the computer 100% of the time. The EVE log shows a directx device being removed, and system logs say that the video driver was reset.
Running an EVGA 980 Kingpin with three monitors. it doesn't matter if I have one client or more open, keeps happening. |

After messing around with this issue for a while this has worked in fixing the problem so far.
Go to Control Panel (search for Control Panel) Go to System and Security Go to Power Options Left side Click "Choose what the power buttons do" Click the "Change settings that are currently unavailable" Untick "Turn on fast startup" Reboot
