I think people should give credit to KIA for accepting a damn hard contract.
Whatever the outcome, they don't deserve any smack for that.

yes you¦re right on it......
Edit ; I¦m a relatively new player (again, since i have played eve more than 3 years ago and then took a loooong break b4 it caught me again )....
Critisicm should always be something which makes the people think about their own opinion and then hopefully do it better....
The thing that makes me think about this special contract is that if an alliance defines its efficiency on stats and numbers designed to fulfill their "only" positive sides is from only one point of view
The alliance is still able to make the kills/losses ratio look good by setting up rules how to show up on the kb¦s....
if this counts for the employer,, fine....
but i think it gives a false light on the "true" events on what really happened...
pls don¦t get me wrong, i¦m really trying to avoid any type of smack....

Merc's should be paid on results, not prety stats, the employer, I would assume wants us dead, they dont care about losses for the mercs, just the number of corpses returned.
You know who we are, you know where we are, give IAC some bodies..

Anyone can accept a hard contract. It takes skill to execute it well, and so far it seems that KIA is fighting this contract on the forums instead of in space.

Actually, many merc corps will NOT accept an exceptionally hard contract, because failing to deliver is a potential PR disaster.
That is up to them, of course. It is a business after all. Mercs are under no obligation to accept contracts they do not wish to fight.
But what you claim is incorrect - it takes balls to accept a very tough contract such as this, knowing it could easily blow up in your face.

So the contract targets commending KIA for bringing it is nullified by some random uninvolved person saying they rather fight on the forums?
Oh, wait, where exactly is KIA fighting on the forums? Haven't seen too many KIA posts recently, and I doubt any will be smacking on the subject of a contract.

Well, they are certainly not fighting in-game in eve, judging by their killboard, so I don't know how they are executing this contract. |

I have not seen one kia guy smack, or one badly setup ship. And kb stuff will not reflect much, they did a very good job of rincing our suport in the caitol fight, we at the time were not exspecting them and in our favour we have maybe more big ships then first meets the eye so though we lost alot of smaller stuff we won the big battle. Kia also hen got unlucky with a setup they were doing on a camp we had, just as they got more numers in 0utbreak roaming gang comes back and teams up for a very one sided afiar. We do do the snipping stuff but as people who have fought us over time will know that we have skills (I hope at least :0) in small gang stuff. We have been trying a few things out, all frig gangs, battle cruiser gangs, close range bs gangs ( this comes alot from the triad in 0utbreak something most over look since of the BA connections ). I wanted to make my own post about "whats ur favourite type of gang" we have a few ones planned (all ship types) and I have to ay those have been a blast and really think people need to go for that sort of thing more. BCs are proberly allainces best bet with new players, they dont cost too much and t1 cruiers just dont quite cut the mustered when ur facing bs. I do hope we get a more even match with kia. 0utbreak is pritty damn agressive so its hard job.

they work good in a team and they have a good leader - tip my hat 2 mr eddz!
eddz will make sure he wins a contract even if his methods will get him smacked for it.. e.g only ganking solo players.

I'm interested in knowing what you mean by "win a contract", do you mean satisfy the client? or do you mean end the contract with more kills than losses?
In my opinion, a merc corp should do whatever it takes to please the client, if this means taking heavy losses to achieve a goal then the fee negotiated should reflect this.
Disclaimer: This is not a comment on KIAs current contract, just a general question about mercs to find out other peoples opinions.

More and more Outbreak sign on so that in the end its approx 40 of us v. 90 of them. Overall fighting lasted 1-2hours non stop on the gate, bloody brilliant!
We managed to hold the field.

Well most of those losses come from the join IAC/KIA cap fight, in which overal we won (killed lots of IAC and their caps) but we killed few KIA as their caps left early + our support fleet took a pounding due to being vastly outnumbered.
But as Kodos said, what do you class as a "successful' contract? If you do not please your client it cannot be said to be a "success" and I think most outbreak will agree that the arrival of KIA has not prevented us from continuing our normal activities.

Fact is D'Artagna is absolutely right . they inflicted us more damages than we did to them ....so it can be called a successfull contract . one point of view or another , who care , as someone said : only the result is important Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Sahwoolo Etoophie ([email protected]) The Frenchy |

THOSE stats are in their favor but they poorly reflect all parties involved. You gotta look at IAC+KIA. Come now, you know better than that. -----------------------------------------------

My honest opinion, this was a bad contract for KIA to take. Having been in a small successful merc corp before, as well as many other current outbreakers, kia's small size makes it near impossible for them to impose thier will on us. There was a very exciting beginning to this contract, where probably 70+% of thier campaign took place. Since then its been very quiet on the kia vs outbreak front, and understandably so. It can be explained like this: (KIA vs (KIA*2)) = . in reality, stats mean jack all. but in merc land stats are everything, that was one aspect of merc work that I hated, fun was sacrificed to maintain a certain K:D ratio.
Anyway my advice to KIA, some day might want to try dropping out of the merc business and just blow stuff up, its a hell of a lot of fun!

So kia should be responsible for all the IAC npcers and haulers you kill? I think not. Kia has killed twice as much as they have lost. Yes, it was all in one huge battle and yes, IAC has lost a ****load of ships, but that has nothing to do with kia. They are still on +

hmm the result of what / which point of view ?
If that is common merc biz nowadays, i personally think it is a "poor" biz....
Merc Corps put themselves in a good light while the people who asked for the help / paid the mercs loose even more ships while being part of a Kia gang in this case ?
Hmm.....
