Actually - isnt it a better idea to close down the ISP for each country during daytime - so ppl can work without worrying about someone else stealing their plexes?
And so kids can go to schools instead?
Ah, wait - no, keep EVE open betwen 5 pm and 9 pm instead. then everyone can get a good nights sleep. CCP as well. And make babies too.
EDIT: Altought that would kill off ISD ofc. Forums are open 24/7. No babies there tough :(

How about... and this is a radical new idea that hasn't been mentioned EVER before in this thread....
how about... NOT arguing about when downtime happens, and instead making officer spawns occur randomly throughout the day instead of directly after DT...? Crazy but it just might work...

Static plexes are being replaced by dynamic content?

They said they are considering removing static complexes, but haven't decided for sure.
There has been no mention of changing officer npc spawns at all.

Amerikanskis already have the advantage of paying way less for the same content because of their different tax system. They also have the advantage of a non-critical DT time (ie, 5 in the morning, while for me it's lunch break), so the topic title is maybe a bit... not so well thought out and I can well understand why everyone bashes the OP.
Still, spawns of key holders and everything else that only spawns rarely should definitely be ranomized, everything else just empowers the power gamers (whether they happen to live in a good time zone, or get up at night to run something). Eve isn't a power gamer game, imho (training system anyone?), so it should be consequent in that regard.

This thread is pretty stupid.
Who benefits from the current DT? Euro players who have to work for a living surely not. I come back home around my 8PM and have also missed the DT goodies as muchas the next.

DT is so that it's the best time for the devs (maintenance etc) not that it's the best time for some arrogant americans.

Hi,
From knowledge and observation officerspwans not only spwan right after DT though given the chance you get one after DT is higher. But some corpmates of mine got 2 in a day and this was not after DT.
Also we European with a job are more shafted then you US people cause while we are at work earning our money to fund our EVE habit, the rest of the world logs in, while we have our lunchbreak, and do de complexes and hit the belts.

DT is always going to fall when group A are asleep, group B are at work and slap bang in the middle of group C's primetime.
it makes no difference to CCP who a, b and c are really, so they might aswell have DT when it's convenient for them. ie. whilst they're at work.
and as a number of people have already said, it only really benefits europe's student/unemployed players since the rest of us are busy at work then anyway and the vast majority of people won't be sat having 3 hour lunchbreaks whilst they go farm a bunch of 'plexes.

I am not going to complain about the timing of DT, but I think it would be really neat if DT was once a week instead of once a day. I played another MMO that was like this.
If CCP is going to change the DT time, then we are going down a slope that could lead to the game being sharded and having an EU server, a US-EST server and so on.
My real gripe on the TZ issue is that Aurora in game events largely cater to the EU time zone, as does the alliance tournament.

I honestly beliave that this world have at least 3 bill ppl more then needed.
Many of those posted in this thread (myself included possible).
It doesnt matter where you live...America, australia, Ausia, Africa, Europe (myself)...or even fricking Mars.
The point is that DT provide certin income regulary (plexes, spawns, etc...doesnt matter what kind). Couse of this reason DT should be either random or better yet, moved 4-8 hours every week.
Even though 11:00 EVE time might be working time for majority of CCP, they still have shifts.
Or if DT cant be changed to fit players ALL OVER THE WORLD, then this reseting should change at least to random or whatever.
So, chill out with this crap of posts (tissue, whining, etc,etc)

down time is when server fixes happen, bugs are fixed.. patches released... they are going to be at a time its easy for ccp to do so.. not as some stupid hour of the night. People moan about bugs and stuff constantly then moan about the time ccp uses to fix bugs... they cant win really..someone will always cry
random dt is laughable... also how can people plan anything around random downtime!!?

Can we have a numbers generator do a random respawn? 1-12 hours after downtime?

Op has a point. In a way players from the US do kinda get screwed. Its not just plexes. Respawn hits just as I leave for work in the morning. by the time I get off work, all the omber and any other roid worth a crap has been striped out of every system. So it effects miners as well. People from Europe get respawn at prime time!

Erm... CCP needs to do downtime in the middle of the day while they at work in case anything goes wrong (ie. server doesnt come up again), so that they have a good few hours to resolve the problem before it gets round to going-home time for most of them.

can't you just petition to get all officer/faction spawns moved to your home system, at a conveniant time of you choosing, if that does'nt work, get your CEO to do it for you, I mean, having more space/complexes/rare ore then any other alliance ingame must be a terrible burden, and quite rightly you should be compensated for such a burden.
