Well, I tried going into production and research - but frankly it got boring after a few weeks...
So I find myself back into PvP in a new form, flying frigate support for one of my friends from the old TLBC who is now in m0o.
I realised that unlike BS flying, frigate piloting required actual skills instead of simply those on the EVE character sheet. I've never had more fun PvP:ing ever - not to mention I didn't have to worry about losing that expensive BS of mine. I lost two ships tonight, and it wasn't even noticable in my wallet depths 
I've longed for a real challenge in this game, and I think I have finally found it. PvP was the first basic challenge, frigate flying is the next step in that.
Therefore I have started a new corporation, with the ambition of gaining other frigate pilots so things will become really interesting (kudos to Mercenary Frigates and the likes). I invite all of the ones who wishes to join me in Frigate combat and yet has no fitting corp.
Note: Since most of my friends are pirates I am, at the moment, engaged in pirate activity. However, this I see merely as a way to gain experience and this path is NOT the one of the corp (hipocritical, for the victims don't care, I know).

I only fly frigates for combat at the momment. I can fly a cruisers (not bs yet, only been around a few weeks). The main reason being if i lose it, it costs me next to nothing to make a new one.
Also it does the job that i want it to very well, just as well as a cruiser.

I too lately have discovered the joys of frigate pvp, they make excelent scout ships and support larger fleets well with the ability to lock and warp scramble exetremely fast,me and my fiends have killed many frigates indys and even cruisers with these.
a corpmate killed some guy in a rupture the other day in his kestrel 1v1.

Frigate combat is absolutely the best. I ran with MF for a few and was sad how obsolete frigates realy were back before castor.
I just spent a good hour in GWL chuckin heavy missles at CA bs's for fun.(cant use cruise missles yet). After about 30 minutes one of them finaly got me and sent me on my marry way to my new clone.
Castor gave much needed love to frigates, you can actualy blow something up in a frigate now! I just gave my new unused megathron to a friend, i'm a frigate ***** from now on!

Frigates are fun! The kestral will no longer be able to equip Cruise missiles after the next patch however, as demonstrated on CHAOS.

Frigat combat only works good if there isn't a huge amount of enemy targets and you have a good computer.
Once there is over 30 people, i get next to slide show quality, with less than 10 frams per second, and very sloppy reaction times for my input commands.
This makes tactical use of frigates in large scale battles a non option for me, as well as participation in any large fleet battles, since I would just lose a bigger ship.

Hopefully we will see a steady increase in the use of frigates in skirmishes. Frankly, pre-castor wars were a one-track thing, i.e. mass up a large battleship fleet and attack the other sods.

After castor there has been a sudden increase in frig pirates, DAMN i KNEW i shoulda posted my recruting thread for my frig corp.

I could kill 30 frigates in about 2 minutes in my Raven, without a noticeable dent in my shield i suspect. Lets be honest, they ok for pirating indis, and being a nuisance, but thats all they ok for.

Hmm. 30 x 4 x ~350 = 42.000 hp
... that's some big shields you are running there, Eddz. ;s
(not to mention it's hard to kill something with missile boat when that something flies faster than your missiles, but oh well...)

My Calcs are based upon running a setup for protection against Missiles + Weapons to take them down fairly quickly and of course Misiiles for the non mwd powered frigs. If you wanna try it, I will agree to meet 30 frigates anywhere, anytime. But I'll be podding to collect bounties, just so its worth my while ;)
If nothing else, would make a nice video.
I havent taken into account EW of course. That could change things, but even so, not for sure.
I would still like to give it a go ! :)

i got a corp mate to attack me in his frigate, i wasnt to use guns, and only cruise missiles. i COULDNT hit him. he was moving too quick for my missiles.
they just blew up without a hit.

I wouldnt use missiles to kill em m8 tbf. And the ability to take down 30 Frigates, isnt retiscent to my Raven only, although the med slots would help, and BS set up correctly could do it nps :)
All they got is cruise missiles after all.

Dude, frigates don't just sit there and fire missiles at you. Warp Scramblers, Webifiers, Sensor Damnpers. Let alone the fact that if you do target one its agility ensures it can warp fairly fast and the time it takes for you to lock one you'd be dampened. You couldn't take on 10 let alone 30 mate and i'm being serious with that one.
Have you engaged a fleet of frigates recentley fella?

Yeah, in my initial bravado, i forgot to include the EW aspect in my thoughts. Sooooo take that away I stick by my initial statement, but as you say, with ew, 10 would be almost an impossibilty, let alone 30.
Still would make a great video.

Uhm yeah, 30 sensor dampeners and you wouldn't have enough range to target your own toenails.
Not to mention you have a beard when you have one frigate actually locked by then.
Shame they are so expensive, let's hope the BP will be out soon.

"Well I still have Heavy Drones!" You mean you HAD them. Heavy drones are a pest, but 1on1 against a frigate its spacedust. We'll have a bunch of frigates take out your heavy drones. A heavy drones is about the price of what it costs to replace a frig and equipment these days.
So what else you wanted to throw at us?
I agree, i wouldn't try to take one a bs when not at least with 4 buddies. Still a slim chance to win, but at least a chance to have beaten the bully straight in his face before he knocks you unconscious.
Good thing kessies can't fire cruises after patch, now only hope cruises can't kill frigs as well anymore.
Honestly I can't imagine why people still want to have battleships. I've never had so much fun or played this relaxed. Even though I have lost several ships by now.

Not much frigateers that are playing frigate-only to actually make money that way are flying the kestrel/cruise combo.
If you have a cargo full of cruises you might just as well go and fly an Caracal.
Kestrels attract fire like a frigate pirate attracts carebear-bs-PvPers.
Oh and that would make a lousy video btw, more like some slideshow.

Wouldn't they just set up to mass lock you down and chew you up? If any of these boys going after you are ex-MF, they'd know what to do.

in my pirating experince:
ME [kestral] a BB typhoon raven and apoc
i use my 2 sec lock time to warp jam and dump my cruise's and orbit at 10-15km firing as fast as my little ship can
once we took a scorp down in about 4 seconds
the megathron that came with it warped away as soon as it warped in... we later killed it also
out of the 4-5 skirmishes ive seen ive been destoryed once! and that was by a raven who was auto trgted to me since i was the first to lock on her [warp jammer baby!] and missiles are devasting ecspecially to a frig......
but even with only HVY missiles itll be about the same DMG/TIME cuz u can carry 2 hvys per launcher instead of 1 and have a faster RoF since u dont have to reload as often
