This is new...
Trying to connect to play and I get a failed connection message stating that VictoriaStation blew up. What's that all about?

Servers are in London, aren't they? Someone's idea of a joke, I suspect.
_______ "Soon" is an ancient Icelandic word meaning "some time before the next Ice Age." |

Well, I can't connect to petition. Guess we just have to wait for someone to take notice of this thread?

I get weird error messages that sound like a Joke rather than an exception, forgot what they say exactly, try to post it next time I get one.

This is sad and funny at the same time
There are some error messages that are hilarious! This one specifically... first time I saw it was back in beta hehe
But that one from the agent asking for a doctor because he didn't know what to say, well, everytime I remember that one I start laughing haha _______________________________________________

Some of the beta error messages were funny... common one was "Not in ballpark" or some such thing. lol
or "Something nasty just happened and I have to close. Sorry"

Edited by: Lucas Bowman on 06/01/2004 14:16:42 Okay, returning to topic....
VictoriaStation has blown again. I am able to log on from my home, but not from work. Both use a different ISP, my home having dialup and work being ISDN. Your server does recognize when I enter an incorrect password, but a correct password will yield the VictoriaStation error and fail to connect me. Have new sa***uards been installed to allow only one account to be played from one station?
And, why is safe guards a filtered word?

Speaking of weird messages click here to view the SS, if you can't read it, reads
This page is not suitable for displaying.
Something evil happened here; unmatched tag? p.
Line 12 offset8
I pretty much understand what that means, but the something evil happened here, kind of threw me off, it's still funny.

There was one error message in beta that really went over the top just like mr Angry lol.
Generally though the error messages were a bit of light relief in the midst of the pain that was "exception window" errors. -------------------------------------------

Great, wonderful, fantastic. Everybody is having a freakin great time, yet with all the wonderful comments, including Pann's, still after 3 days of questions and request for support, I am unable to connect! There's no problem with the billing, payments are going through okay, that can't be the problem. Petition still hasn't been answered. Fun meter is dropping fast! Perhaps I'm simply not wanted as a paying customer?

Have you tried clearing your cache? First try deleting everything but prefs.ini, but you may need to go beyond that and completely delete the cache/ directory within the EVE directory.
If that doesn't work, have you submitted a bugreport including a LogServer logfile? ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Xanadu Corporation |

Edited by: Lucas Bowman on 08/01/2004 14:53:07 Some attempt at help, thank you.
Yes, cache has been cleared, no luck.
I tried running the log-server, but nothing comes up. Checked the help boards to make sure I'm using it correctly, looks like I am. Perhaps because I'm on a LAN? Dunno, Day 4, no luck. WAHHH!

Firewall involved?
Some type of port blocking/mapping?
I think CCP should at least lookup what that message is tied too. A sense of humor only gets you so far...
Good luck!
