Last Sunday i decided to take a few guys from my corp into passari/mara are. DMC corp doesnt support pirating in any way. However we thought we would take a look around for red targets only 
After about 30 minutes of jumping around a few low sec systems we ran into Kinsy of Celest camping the passari gate in mara. It was apparant that he had support in what probably in piekura. Then the worst thing that could happen happened.....
The girlfriend phoned  So time to head home and log off i thought. Reached the exit gate in passari about to jump into litura and i issue the command to jump back to mara for one last check. Little was i to know that in the space of 10 minutes an entire pirate camp had been setup on both sides of the gate. So what happened next....
DMC Corp:
1 Raven
fully T2 fitting
1 Mega
T2/T1 fitting
1 Drake
fully T2
we arrive on the mara gate.. 2 bs's sat there at 0 meters 8-10 at 445km aligned. So i issue the command to jump knowing full well that on the otherside is a gank fleet. Its what i would have done when i pirated. In we jumps.
1 Carrier
8 or so BS's
HACS etc etc sat in wait
theres me thinking that as the drake decloacked first they would consentrate fire on him ... theres me thinking wrong
Drake manages to warp to safety while mega is scrambled. i engage in raven while attempting to warp. 10 seconds later i'm still aligning to warp as mega goes down. Then its my turn. Supprisingly i was very impressed with the raven as the tank held for 10 seconds with fighter drones and the fleet engaging me ...
To the guys camping hats off to you. Its the kind of camp i remember doing with shadow squadron and Snigg back in the day. I did knotice however Celest making a quick exit out of area which is no supprise as the force in empire to take them on would have required major organising no doubt....
i may have lost 300 mill easy but then no worries as i'm loaded lol... Can't think of any other way i would have rather gone down...
Currently sat here thinking i might come back to pirating and throw an app into Veto corp...
On a side note the day before we ganked a domi in mara fully T2. I would like to appologise for this as it was an act of piracy which my CEO/Directors do not condone in anyway shape or form....
However it was a good drop and nice setup to the guy by the way

sounds sorta lame to me. Maybe it was just a good oganization of the bare minimum to take on 3 ships that could possible be capable of PVP.
If your story would have been about a great camp that consisted of two BC's that killed all 3 of you guys, then That would me something good.
Anyone can kill 3 ships when they have a massive blob consisting of everything from HAC to carrier. At that point, veldspar becomes a much greater challenge to pop in Amsen.
The more admirable part of the whole thing is that you guys went into passari looking for combat with only 3 ships..... That's where the honor rest. Continue to be the man instead of a spec of dust in a blob of "whateveryouwanttocallthem" Realize there is a reason you found a massive blob instead anything resembling a fair fight.

thankyou for the compliment. i do beleave the camp was setup for a weekly ganking session and not on our part

i feel cheap for leaving the lads behind after warping off to safety but in all fairness if we had a few more ships i think that it would have been a fair fight and we would have been walking away with about a bill worth of killing....
although i could say good fight that would be hiding the fact i left sharpish with the amount of ships tryin to pull me to bits.
*hangs head in shame* but still here to fight another day :)

yeah i agree. doesn't seem like they demonstrated any skills in camping there. if it was about how they snagged u and u were in an interceptor or there were 5 of u and they tackled all of you instantly and not 1 got away. or as mentioned previously they were outnumbered then i'd say it was post worthy. ganking a couple of bs and letting 1 ship get away with all they had is not terribly impressive.

Sounds like ppl are getting grumpy about ppl heading to Mara/Passari looking for fights.
Actually the number of people trying to blob only is getting out of hand these days.

edit - Let's alter this post before all the North Americans get off work and come flame me. I like CelesApoc and the Movement, have had a few encounters some in my gangs favour some in theirs. All times very fun no smack very pro and lots of pew pew so plz don't flame me ok thanks :D
p.s. I think I just enjoy hearing CelesApoc was pew pew'd and then the DMC guys *who were hunting Celes* gets mangled while chasing them into the same trap
Celes apoc lost 2 BS 1 vexor 1 command ship and they killed 2 BS of theirs while they where outnumbered. i would say celes apoc did dam good

Yea I wasn't actually there but I know a lot of pew pew happened. I heard Carrier from our scout on voice and made the assumption. You in your Geddon vs my Drake with Sentry aggro now there's some royally messed up:P

didnt notice u where the drake pilot until u said it lol
i think i agressed first dont know y the sentrys shoot u though
and their was a hurricane who got the last blow at the end.

Well we got quite suprised by the massive damage you guys did on our baits, we lost two battleships before we could cyno in the carrier to remote rep them. Good fight guys.

Yes, you went in undermanned and they came out so far overblobbed it wasn't a fight, it was veldspar mining.
That's the state of combat in Eve, and even the new 'bombs' won't change it (esp since the bombs will only be truly effective against drones/fighters).
Many targets won't even attempt to engage without 5/1 odds in their favor, which you saw. Especialy lowsec 'pirates' when they're not going after haulers/barges. If it shoots back they'll only respond with blobbage.

and i wasnt in the Fight if i was outcome would have been different :) i would have cynoed in with a Carrier lol :)

Pirates in their own turf blob universally (as do any other groups trying to secure/defend their 'turf'), but hunters are a different story.
Gotta hand it to a hunter, and to a lesser degree raiders, because they often venture into enemy turf in limited numbers not knowing exactly what they're going to encounter.
On the other hand, defenders typically know exactly what's out there and can respond appropriately... with the biggest, most overwhelming mass of firepower they can bring to bear against whatever the target is.
I have even seen carriers sallied in response to mere frigates, with the attendant BS & T2 support... to go after fast moving raiders, or simply to spook them into moving on after the requisite hour of back & forth smacktalk.

The truth of the matter is that we were on a road trip to passari to see if there were any targets, turns out there were veto and celes in the area so we were going after them, after defeating celes we were collecting the loot and in jumped DMC, obviously unaware of what had just been going on, seeing as we were all on the gate at the time it was decided to pop em and see what came out.
Just unlucky on their part i guess. We were not camping the gate either, we had just jumped in to get celes, also it isnt our turf, we live in Placid
PS nice that someone remembers the good old days os Shadow Squadron and Snigg hanging around Mara/Passari
