The title should hopefully attract a few extra views while being absolutelly accurate as to what the idea is.
Now to the idea.
As we all know, if you hoover the mouse pointer over the wallet icon on the left side of the screen we will get a fast and simple display of hos much isk we currently have in our own personal wallet.
This is a great feature but why not use that feature for skills too?
I hoover the mouse pointer over the character sheet icon/button and I get shown what skill Im training and how long till it is completed.
Sure, its a minor thing but if you are flying through lowsec, are camping a gate, getting ready for a battle... you may not want to open a window in the middle of your screen, a quick [Titan 5/5 2 days 2 hrs 2 min 1 sec] will suffice.
any comments?

Edited by: Trader Darin on 15/05/2007 22:07:53 I also suggest add in skill's ETA time to train for example:
2 days 2 hrs 2 min 1 sec [18 may 2007 17:22:40]
So we can easly set up timers in calendars or warning siren ;)
I tired to calculate time i left than translate to local time from eve time :( =========================== Between Light and Darkness, Road Difficult and Hard. Are able you pass it to the end?!? --- āOnly who walk on Path can reach it endā |

I like the way you wrote that, ie have both time left and a date and time.
You would still have to translate from eve time (GMT) to your local time (unless it too is GMT) but that wouldnt be all that troubblesome.
However... only one reply on such a nice and simple feature that should not be especially hard to add.

wallet status can change every single second (like mine going downhill), but skills are only chanced every let's say 5 mins if you only got rank 1 level 1 skills.
if you ask me, no need.

Well, pressing right mouse button and the time it takes for the server to get the data is nearly as long. Not to mention, when you're checking for multiple skills, rightclick would be faster.
I don't want a hoverthingy coming up on each skill i happen to poke.

I like the idea. If wallet changes aren't too taxing for the system to update, then a skill timer shouldn't be either. If server lookup time becomes an issue, it shouldn't be hard to have the clock running client-side, with a synchronization when you log in, clone jump, get podkilled or activate a skill to train.

Seems like there was a bit of a missunderstanding there, but it seems to have been kleared upp, thanx for that.
I know the idea is not a game revolutioning idea, people wont log on and say "Wow, my life is so much simpler now!" but if all you want to know is if a skill is close to completion it can be a nice little feature.
As for implemintation... I cant say I know what the game code looks like but as the info I wish to display is already displayed inside the character sheet in much the way I wish for it to be displayed when hovering over the character sheet button I cant see there being all that difficult to get it done.
