I just did intercept the Sabatours. A lvl 2 mission I got from a CalNav Agent. In this mission I took in my Maller. I am less then one month old so I don't have a whole lot of skillpoints like most people running lvl 2 missions. ( I am an alt account though so I have lots of player experiance)
This mission is insane for a lvl 2. You have Minmitar frigs and intys zooming around where my Quad Light Laser Beams with a Tracking Computer could not hit them. They web me so my AB wont help get far enough away to track. They scram me which made me lose my Maller. And that thing has a pretty decent tank for a cruiser.
So I figure my tracking was the problem since I cant maintain range and I cant track when they are close.
After losing the Maller I grab my Coercer. It has tracking bonuses and range bonuses. SO I have my Dual Light Beams equipped and I still can't hit the intys. Luckily when they orbit around me there was one part where there transversal was low enough I could pop them. I realize pulses are going to hit them easier but still. I feel sorry for the poor noobs that do this mission.
It warns in the beggining of the mission that there will be interceptors but says nothing of the warp jam specifically. I suggest maybe adding that bit of info.
This is the hardest lvl 2 mission I've done by far.

If I understand correctly you were not able to warp to the Station or another location to get away?

Uh, could anyone else who has done this mission confirm this? I didn't see the mission listed in eve-info, and eve wiki has it down as a level 3 mission:

EVE-info is terribly out of date. Over half the level 2 missions I did in the last couple of months just weren't listed, and some were listed as either lvl 1's or lvl 3's, dating from prior to the latest patches. Some of the level 3's I'm doing now aren't listed either. Same seems to be true for eve-wiki. They simply haven't caught up with all the mission tweaking CCP's been doing.

Since ALL interceptors have a chance to scramble you, the warning DOES have that info, you just didn't know enough to make use of it :P
Still inties in a L2 ARE pretty mean. -

No that is what Warp Scramblers do, prevent warp.
And thats the thing is there is not counter against it. WCS? On guns? Yeah right!

Edited by: Siege on 16/05/2007 22:46:26 Always, always, always, always, always fit a good webber with 85% or better speed reduction on it. Sometimes I even fit two of them, but that's only for specific missions.
Combine that with a target painter if your ship fitting has the slot available, and those interceptors won't be much of a problem at all.
Since you're flying Amarr, this next bit may not be much use to you, but I tend to have better luck with missles against small targets like that.

Second the advice about the webber. Much like the afterburner, I never leave home without one. If webbing alone isn't enough you'll need to do some fancy navigating (read: run away from them) to get your angular velocity down. The worst tracking on a med pulse laser is .065 rad/sec, and with a webbed target you will punch them good. I have no problems hitting them with my artillery cannons, which track at about .035.

Edited by: Helspeth on 19/05/2007 05:28:46 I know exactly which mission you're talking about and which ships warp scramble in that one. The "Chief Republic <name>" are the Interceptors the mission warns you about and its those ships that will warp scramble, albeit I've only seen them scramble me once, and I've gotten that mission 8-10 times.
I run Level 2s in a Harpy (only been playing a little over a month myself, went straight for the Caldari Assault Frigs cause I thought they looked cool), and for those I generally "pull" the various groups back to the warp point on that mission to make salvaging easier. The Chief Republics are generally much faster than the other ships and I can almost always have those blown up way before the rest get to me.
As a few posters said, I always have a Stasis Webifier equipped as well as an Afterburner. I almost always use 4 Railguns on the Harpy, though for that mission specifically I'll switch in 2 Blasters since most of those ships will get within 2k of you. The Statis Web lets my Railguns hit any ship even if they're only 500m away.

i used a smartbomb on my maller when i was doing lvl 1s and 2s. it makes for afun on any drone mission and on anything that orbits close as you can just sit, get aggro and start the bomb. on drone missions you never move and salvage is easy peasy.

I've only had this mission a few times on level 3 and the frigates in that mission weren't quite interceptors imo...they were flying semi slow. That was Sansha mobs though.
From the range you start out with, I didn't have any problems hitting the frigates. Otherwise there are several plan B's and drones are included there...they are very effective for small targets. --- Currently flying a PvE geared Crusader and Prophecy |

I updated the category on those missions but there were no level 2 missions submitted.
Intercept The Saboteurs
If you have mission details on the new incarnation of this mission please submit them. I couldn't verify the level 3 missions either. More contributors to the site would be a great help.
