Gisti A + SBA perma boosting Cerb is fine in level 4s, i use mine occasionally if I know its not too BS heavy, they are slow BS killers, and having a damage specific bonus is not that useful unless you face majority kinetic weak enemies.
As with all HACs, your tank is both your resistances and your speed, keep moving and you'll be fine, get webbed down for too long and you'll be shopping for a new one.

I flew all level 4 missions in a deimos, it works very well because of the resistances and tank, it just takes longer.
My corpy flies the cerb and has a truckload of fun with level 4 missions.
If you can, get your hands on the nighthawk (or any other CS for that matter), they are somehow more versatile

I had a corpmate that used a Cerb to do lvl 4's and he would ask me to be the tanker in my Drake. So yes you "Can" do 4's in a Cerb, but why?

I did lvl 4 missions in a cerb for a long time most are doable few i wouldnt recomend are silence the informant, Angel X, rogue slave trader and in the midst of deadspace. As someone already mentioned be fast use the range that the cerb affords you. For the record i used a gist x-type lg booster with proper recharge and a little attention your shield should never dip below 70% and cap will stay around 50%-75%.
I would recomend: 5x launchers t2 or dg AB gist x-type lg booster dg invul a good active kin (em for some missions) and a t2 cap recharger TS CPR and 3x bcu (better if you have a crystal set even without you boost as much as a t2 with much less cap needed)

I have been doing L4 missions in a cerb for a long time. There are only a couple of missions that I would not do solo, but, for the most part it can be done. Some missions will take a while though. Silence the informant can be done provided you kill the sentry guns, warp out and then warp back in. Once they are gone the aggro level drops dramatically and the mission can be completed. You may want to fit T2 heavies and bring along a bunch of Scourge Fury missiles for good measure. I rarely need them but they are nice to have around.

Im not sure why anyone would want to do them all in the cerb, it would just take far to long with most of them... i think there pretty slow at killing BS's. I only use mine for the small and quick missions like Cargo Delivery, where i can jump in and out in a flash... all others... CNR. . - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - > Exploring Blind are RECRUITING. All members gain access to stocked Ammo hangars. Assistance with Ships & Skill Books also given. Cerb works ok for level 4 missions.
To those who say a drake works better... what kind of tank are you running, seems like you'd have to gimp your dps to sucessfully tank some of those missions.
But yeah, cerb is pretty slow at killing BS, raven is a better choice. You can pretty much go afk at any point with a gistii boosting cerb and you will come back to not be dead though.
To the person who said they lost one on hand of zazz: linkage (crappy quality)

My Tank is 80+ for each res. on my Drake and have the power/cpu to fit 2 x T2 Misile upgrades, in addition to 2x rigs as well. no gimping.. works great and solos everything... from lvl 4 missions to 5/10 complexes.
Why would one use a cerb? I don't know you probably can but you have 2xlaunchers less to accomplish the same thing..

Nice work. LOL, love the way you casually made a bookmark while taking down Zor.
That must have been a serious tank, 'cos I still can't manage that mission in any ship unless I take down Zor straight away.
I've got to get me one of them there Gisti SBs I think.

Edited by: Freak Bus on 18/05/2007 09:54:21 2 gisti A type smalls, 3 hardeners. 2 CCC rigs. 2 Power Diagnostic IIs, Shield boosters run forever.
I don't do some of the missions because they are too long - it's a trade between time and LPs. Insta pop probably 50% of frigs, 2-3 volley most of the others. BSs take a while if you're not close (spamming defenders).
Some missions are tougher than others on the ship, but technique wins the day on those ones. Particularly worrying was "Attack of the Drones" I think, until I kept range, and of course the second spawn of "Stop the Thief" (Be aligned and ready to warp out as you kill the last BS and come back at range for the re-spawn)
A Cerb has crazy range with heavies and is a nice asset. HAC 4 and high missile skills makes the cerb a mean little ship. EM and Explosive damage together is a pain, but you can often keep enough distance to your enemy to slaughter the fast stuff and gain control.
However, I would not say you can afk many of the missions, Kin and therm damage ones are really a breeze though.

Unconventional perhaps but IĘve fitted my Cerb with 5 heavy launch ii, 1 E50 prototype energy vampire, 4 passive shield resists, 1 Gist A small shield boost // 3 BCS ii, damage control ii // 2 bay loading accelerator 1s.
IĘve soloed : Massive Attack Guristas Spies Infiltrated Outposts Unauthorized Military Presence Attack of the Drones Cargo Delivery Rogue Slave Trader 1st room. Use Raven for 2nd Duo of Death The Score Stop the Thief Right hand of Zasą Rogue Drone Harassment.
If its got a lot of BS then I use the Raven.
Rarely have problem with shields, only if I get too close or agro the whole room at once (and am too close,) Otherwise the booster keeps the shields at 95-100% (run continuously) and the cap never dips below 70%, usually @ 90%.
The NOS is nice if you get in close and watch the shields never go down.
ItĘs a fun mission ship I think, and its really fun not to have a shield or cap problem.

When I ran missions my fitting was:
5 Heavy IIs Gistii a-type small sb named shield boost amp (t2 won't fit) LSE II Invuln II x2 or rat specific 3 BCU IIs 1 PDU II
Runs every mission you get from a level 4 caldari agent, most without taking any sort of damage.
Rogue slave trader part II does take you down to about half shield, and you may have to warp out on vengence after taking out the em turrets with this setup. Other than that it rocks every missions (albeit slowly compared to a raven or cnr)
