So you can't insta delete your character. If you could, it would be used for un-pretty things.

for one reason, so you can't generate infinite isk by transferring the 5000 isk you start off with to another character over and over (with some sort of mouse macro or manually)

Its also to slow down scammers and griefers
If they could insta delete characters they would try a scam/grief, delete the character and do it again straight away with a new one.

If someone discovered your account's password, you'd be glad they couldn't delete your 3 year old character in an instant.

There is a level of ******** that I refuse to acknowledge is there I have literally played for a day and gotten over 2 mill mining. I just popped in a movie and started to multi task by browsing the net while mining its not hard to get ISK

Maybe someone remembers the few days after launch where people were mass creating characters and recycling all the equipment and selling the ore to the NPC market?
If you took the correct path you could make a few thousand isk per character and back then a few thousand wasnt little.

I am glad of that 10 hr wait....
Last night I went to delete a non-used character off my account and accidentally chose the main. If that timer was not there I would have been screwed, instead I just cancelled the trip to the vats and all was good.

im not saying that it doesn't have its uses but i am saying that it takes longer than it should. Like infinitely longer. why not something tolerable like a 5 hr wait time or a 3hr wait time. 10 hrs is just to damn long.
many other games have the delete thing on them but you have to do something like type the name then delete then confirm and then press crt+alt+bunny and then insert a large 20 character key... (slight exaggeration) but my point is clear

To the people saying that 5000 is nothing. My PC can for instance, run all 6 of my account at the same time.
If there was no 10 hour wait what's stopping me automating character creation, so that say every 3 minutes i get another 5000 isk from each account?
Take into account that you cn do this 23/7 and you end up with a lot of isk (if my math is right with 7 accounts it's 16,800,000 a day, but my math is usually wrong)

5,000isk per charcter
6 character
5,000 x 6 = 30,000/3 mintues
30,000 x 20 = 600,000/hour
600,000 x 23 = 13,800,000/23 hours
