The best corp out there for new players to EvE, hands down. You will learn how to fly, fight, prosper, and have fun while experiencing the most unforgiving PvP MMO on the market. What you learn at the University places you head and shoulders above any other pod pilot that started the game when you did and learned about EvE on their own. If/when you decide to move on, your experience in the Uni will place you in good stead in your hunt for a new home. Players that look at your employment history will know that you have a solid background in gameplay and mechanics.
------------------------------------------------ When you pay for my playtime, you can dictate to me what my opinion should or should not be, until then move along |

The '8 week rule' that is mentioned, as how old a char is allowed to be, to be accepted into the Uni... This rule, is not actually a rule, but more of a guideline. I was accepted into the Uni, on my alt (this fella) even though this char is clearly over 8 weeks (more than a year old). I talked to one of the Recruiting directors, and when I explained that I really just wanted to learn more than I knew (more than carebear missioning), the doors were opened.
Having only been in the Uni about a months time, I have already learned a lot, despite my awkward work hours (i work shifts).
I love it here. :) (no I'm not being paid to say this, though I should be :D) Blessed are the young, for they shall inherit the national debt. |

Woah, what's this doing down here? This needs a bump for the new pilots!
I should probably mention the site, and our fancy new RSS feed with info on what's going on in the Uni, just to make this some use for the non-newbies!
Fly safe all. o7

After much prodding by a RL mate, I have joined New Eden and was told that to really learn the in's and out's of EVE, and have fun doing it, then EVE University was the best place to be.
I am doing the tutorials now and will put my application in when I have finished.
Thank You, Doc Rehab

So here is my question. How many members of Eve Uni do missions and is there regularly a mission running group for like level 4 missions? |

In answer to the question about mission running we don't have a dedicated mission running group, but people are often around if you want to do so with them. Thats mainly because L4s can be soloed reasonably efficiently.
And as for the guy who wants to join staff, please contact us in the EVE UNIVERSITY public channel. This thread is more of an advertisement. Actual recruitment is performed in game, since we get like 5 people a day.
And bump. This really is a fantastic corporation where you can learn so much. This is the most friendly and helpful place out there. If you are confused with Eve, sign up now to learn the ropes. |

Edited by: Azual Skoll on 02/10/2008 16:57:19 If you're new to the game, join these guys. Seriously. Don't think, just do it!
If you're not new to the game, and you're looking for something to respark your interest, consider teaching. Not only does it help you understand the skills you already have, but it can be a really rewarding experience, and it might just be that thing you're looking for to make the game interesting again.
The only warning I give is that after you join Eve Uni, you might never want to leave (I know I didn't)...
Honestly, great corp, great people. Join them.

Quote: Early End of war sees students return to class
The Crimson Federation, a mercenary alliance, has officially retraced the war against EVE University after 5 days of sporadic fighting. The war started off cool and saw very little action for the majority of the war. Students and teachers alike agreed that the war failed to deliver. Fortunately, this gave many uni students the change to practice fleet command without the pressure of major combat. "[Fleet Command] is more nerve wracking and exciting than I thought" remarked Michael Honcho, one of the students to command his first fleet.
Ironically in the end, after the retraction, the war was most intense with one battle almost going capital. The incident occurred when six members of the Eve University Low Sec Apprenticeship (LSA), were engaged by a Thanatos Carrier and an Abbadon Battleship. Fleet Admiral Silentbrick, moved to mobilize a University Capital whilst Director of Operations Dee Carson, raced 25 jumps with Uni fleet comprised of 30 mixed ships to reinforce the position. The Crimson Federation responded by switching to smaller ships while bringing in further Capital reinforcements. The original enemy carrier pilot was destroyed in an Ishtar with no further fighting occurring as the uni forces withdrew.
The Retraction itself came while Crimson Federation forces were scattered. Unable to contend against a far larger Eve University fleet, they retracted. No shots were fired during that time.
Following the end-of-war grace period, the Korsiki School of Applied Knowledge was the usual scene of well-organized chaos with a surprising lack of fatal collisions being cause for celebratory cheer. Students were seen piloting nearly everything that would have previously been a liability during the war, from haulers to barges, shuttles to faction ships. Everything was uncovered, unlocked, and undocked. SAK Hangar Control was nearly overwhelmed, but found time to send us the following. "Go away, we're busy!"
With the war over for the forseeable future, recruiting is once again open and pilots can join in Korsiki II, School of Applied Knowledge or any starter system.

Quote: The Mercenary Corporation, Royal Hiigaran Navy, has declared war on Eve University. The war went live on the 12 November 2008. Initial fighting has resulted in the loss of eleven frigates and one inteceptor, due to sniping tactics. The RHN has so far lost three battleships to Uni fleets.
Future details pending an OPSEC assessment may describe the war effort in more detail, however leadership has maintained a low profile during their investigations. Dee Carson, Eve Universities Director of Operations, has described the war targets threat level as moderate.
As usual, recruitment is closed until the war ends and will reopen once the war is over. As always, Eve University continues to offer free help, assistance and answers to general questions in the public chat channel "Eve University".

Due to war we're not recruiting at the moment but will do as soon as it's all over.
I joined the uni about six months ago, the help and advice I've recieved have made the difference between loving the depth of the game and burning out. If you're a new player floundering with what to actually DO or just want helpful advice and a hand up then you'd be more than welcome with us.

Without doubt the single smartest move a new player could make would be to join the Uni. I really dont know if I would have made it past the first week in game without the Uni's help.
Hope you are all well Uni type chaps, miss ya

Edited by: Dagda Morr on 01/12/2008 14:24:45 Thanks for your application Mattias, but due to another war we are keeping recruitment on hold for a while longer. Once the war is over you will need to go to our public channel and ask to speak to an RO (Recruitment Officer), Due to the number of applicants we recieve it is not practical for us to convo each one ourselves :D
Good luck with your application
