What are they all doing. A wild guess.
2000 of them are Carebear Mineing.
1000 of them are doing BORING agent missions.
1000 are GM, polaris, haulers with alt or people just logging in to click skills.
740 PVP-ing
10 podding people in 0.4 and haveing fun

2000 Playing EVE as a mining simulator or just doing corps business or building stuff, selling stuff managing skills travelling, scouting, or just sleeping.
1000 Doing agent missions in order to get THE item to sell or use AKA implants.
1000 are GM, polaris, haulers with alt or people
740 Trying to kill NPC in order to get THE module
10 podding people in 0.4 and having fun at the expense of someone else.
The point of this thread? Just confirming what most players think, a minority of people are having fun in this game at the expense of others.Call me carebear call me lame call me whatever you want but I don't mine and I don't shoot on slow defensless indy.
Because this game has so much weaknesses in it's PvP system a PvP switch is badly needed untill the devs come up with a good solution.There is no sense for a 10Million xp player to shoot at a 800k xp player driving an indy,frigate or cruiser... Sorry for hijacking the thread but the opportunity was too good.

So how exactly would you be able to fly ships and equip modules to said ships if there were no carebears mining? You l33t PVPers seem to forget this rather important fact :)

why are all those people even playing then? why do i even read these forums? i know me and my friends are having fun "carebear mining, doing agent missions, pvping" the market is part of pvp. miners are pvpers too and if i have to explain how then you wont understand. this game isnt here just for the person who wants to blow **** up.

Actually, I find my level III agent gives out interesting combat missions - and doing them in a level one cruiser makes them challenging as well. I leave the battleships at home, drag the old Scythe out of mothballs, and away I go!
Taking out multiple cruisers, or a battleship? Near impossible. Fun too

I am so not a carebear and not a ganker but I have to say this statement is the biggest pile of rubbish I have read. Have a PvP button????
If the system is a little weak now that would only serve to increase the problems. There would never be any PVP ever, you go out to low sec to mine, push the anti Pvp button and you are safe form all except a few crappy rats. The Pirates fly about looking for someone to take out, all see them arrive in a system, buttons get pressed again.
The only time anyone would ever lose a ship would be through arranged fights and inexperience when faced with NPC rats. Think befoee you post, there is nothing wrong with a little risk and in my opinion it is only a little risk.

If i attack an apoc at the jumpgate in empire space....is that ganking or is it PvP?
I guiss it must be ganking since for some reason i have such a great advantage over my adversiry that he can't possibly win and so must warp away or jump out of the system, eventhough hes got good secrating and i dont so the sentries wont fire at him and hes got a better bship.
so where does PVP end and ganking begin i wonder?
BTW: i think its more like 2000 doing agent missions and 1000 mining. Because god forbid someone other then me might have the very first tech 2 bp and have the possibility to be the biggest lamer in the universe and sell something for 100 times what its worth for as long as humanly possible!

It's the exact same things as what Zombie did, you may not attack in "safe-areas" (empire/within sentry range) without loosing your ship.
