EVE TV is looking for dedicated people to help with our weekly news broadcasts. Ideally we require players who are experts in a particular field of gameplay, who can use their extensive knowledge together with an authoritative voice to report on events taking place in and around the EVE galaxy. Being able to write your own script would be an advantage, but is not necessary.
Assuming your field of knowledge was in diplomacy, you would be required to keep an eye on the required forums and suggest leads that can be follow up either by yourself or by other correspondents. Once the script is written by our News Editor, you would read it to mic, either in our London (Ealing) studio, or using a good quality desk mic.
Areas of expertise required:
Economics (markets)
Industry (research and manufacturing, POS)
Diplomacy (sovereignty, wardecs and pacts)
Empire correspondents (role-playing, NPC and organised events)
Entertainment (general fun and frolics)
Community (updates on player sites, apps, radio, etc)
War correspondents (frontline pew-pew)
Must:
Have a good voice (accents and regional dialects are fine, but you must be able to speak English clearly so that the listener will understand you)
Be able to provide assets (.wav file) at short notice (typically within 24 hours) û or turn up at the studio when required
Have expertise in one or more chosen areas of EVE gameplay
Be reliable û TV is all about teamwork and tight deadlines, so we do need to be able to count on you if you've agreed to do something.
Be as objective as possible in your reporting.
Note that you may apply using an alt character, but be aware that
Rewards:
The respect and adoration of thousands
If you're looking to get a job in media, this could be a good start
Payment in ISK per report, bonuses available :)
After acceptances as a full correspondent, you will receive an exclusive EVE TV crew shirt (like the CCP dev shirts, hopefully, but lots better)
Applicants must send us a .wav file, no longer than 30 seconds, saying û in your best news voice - why you think you'd be perfect for one or more of the above jobs. Please include your EVE name, real name, area(s) of expertise and what country you live in. You can email your details/files to [email protected]

What?!?
What must we be aware of?
I'm afraid.
Also, can I buy you a drink at the London meet in June? Not that I would want to influence you with a bribe, it is just that if I decided to apply I would rather you didn't listen to my sound-bite sober.
:D
In all seriousness, this sounds like a very interesting project.

I am a bit confused. You said, you need to be able to read it into a mic, or in the London studio. But then it says the requirements are that you can provide assets quickly, or show up in the studio.
It seems pretty clear, but I just wanna double check that you are saying that you'll talk people from outside of the UK who wouldn't be able to get to the studio, as long as they pass the other requirements?

yes that is correct. If you can get to the studio we love a tea boy (joking) however if you can not and have a decent mic recording setup (software we would talk about) then anyone is welcome onboard regardless of location.

Darn right you're joking - that post was promised to me many moons ago
I'm not sure any of the areas are really my cup of tea, but if you ever have a slot for lowsec/solo piracy then you know you need only ask.
EDIT: On second thoughts I didn't see the Empire/RP section so perhaps...

quick question
i am currently a journalism student in the Us, and i was wondering,
do you need writers? people to write scripts and reviews, but not be a reporter for obvious reasons, i am an ugly sack of crap that would not want to be on screen
rather, help out by keeping you informed on what is going on, and getting other players opinions and putting them into a report that the..... more stage ready people could read?
if so, i will apply, because that is somthing that i would be interested

this sounds too good to be true, but i do like the sond of it, after having spent the best part of the last 3months at war with bob and rise, i could definatley comment on some frontline action, also the general tomfoolery that goes around in empire and roleplaying through missions is fun.
what program would be best to record in so i can send mine in!!
and liandri, i miss seing you aorund taking the ore!!

You know I'd be rather keen on being an Empire (RP and NPC specifically) correspondent.
I shouldn't brag, (because I have nothing to Brag about in EVE, people hate my guts), but I've been here since 2003 on and of, have the longest seperate corp employment history in EVE, and love to RP, without the pew-pew PvP rubbish. Plus I've flown in almost every single High-sec system from Amarr to even *shrudders* ugly Minmatar space. I may not know EVE the way average players know it (as in PvP), but I know EVE's history and Empires, from what it's been and to what it's become in Empire space.
Unfortunetly, I'm making a major move back down to good ol' New Zealand next month, so bugger all if I know when I'll have my own computer back from shipping. Other-wise I'd be applying right now. Even took journalism classes, but it was mostly to get my writing (not imagination of course) up to par, for novels.
Sounds sweet as. *sighs*
